Brian Kelly receives 10-year, $95 million contract, plus incentives, at LSU. He will be formally introduced as Tigers’ coach at a Wednesday press conference

LSU formally shared the details of Kelly’s incentive-laden contract while announcing his hiring on Tuesday morning, as relayed by Ian Rapoport.

It was reported on Monday that Kelly was leaving Notre Dame after 12 seasons and was expected to be the Tigers’ next head coach. During his dozen years at the helm of the Fighting Irish, Kelly recorded a 92-39 mark and led the program to the 2013 BCS National Championship Game.

Notre Dame’s victories in 2012 and 2013 were later vacated due to academic violations.

The Fighting Irish fell to Alabama in the 2021 Rose Bowl and are currently No. 6 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

The Tigers were national champions only two years ago after Ed Orgeron led the team to a perfect 15-0 record in the 2019 season. The team went 5-5 in 2020 and 6-6 in 2021 though and reached a separation agreement with Orgeron in October.
