East Forsyth’s aggressive defense forced Reagan into 28 turnovers enroute to a 64-49 win over the Raiders Friday night in Jack Musten Gymnasium in Kernersville.

The Eagles held the visitors without a field goal for more than 15 minutes from the middle of the first quarter (5-5/5:30) to early in the third quarter (27-18), when Jack Leonard finally broke the ice for Reagan on a stick-back.

East stretched it’s lead to 18 (46-28) with five minutes left in the game before Jake Phillips & Jalil Rogers helped rally the Raiders, cutting the lead to seven (53-46) over the next three minutes.

But the Eagles’ parade to the free throw line continued down the stretch, converting ten of their 27 for the game (of 45 attempts) to seal their fourth win in five games & the first in Central Piedmont Conference play this season.

Fifty-eight total fouls were called in the game, 32 on the visitors who had 20 less attempts at the line than East Forsyth. Junior Will Gray led all scorers with 23 points for the Eagles & Braxton Stewart added 13.

Rogers led Reagan with 20 points & Leonard chipped in 11 & a game-high 10 rebounds. The Raiders continue CPC play next week with games at home against Glenn on Tuesday & Davie County on Friday.
