Steak n Shake High School Football Players of the Year are RJ Baker and Jhyheem Pittman from Dudley High School

In our announcement of the Steak n Shake Football Players of the Year, we have RJ Baker, from Dudley High School, as the Steak n Shake Offensive Player of the Year, and we have Jhyheem Pittman, also from Dudley High School, as our Steak n Shake Defensive Player of the Year…

Both Baker and Pittman are a part of the James B. Dudley High School 2021 NCHSAA 3-A State Championship Football Team…The two winners were decided by our our panel, a five-man panel, and it was a close race to the end zone, as we determined the winners…

RJ Baker and Jhyheem Pittman will receive an autographed football from Graham Sporting Goods, in Burlington, and a plaque from Greensboro Trophy…Hope to have those in their hands during the first week of January…

Congratulations to RJ Baker and to Jhyheem Pittman, and we also send out congratulations, to all of the young men that were in the running for these awards…And especially we want to again recognize the Final Four in both our offensive and defensive categories..

Final Four on Offense with RJ Baker, from Dudley HS, Aidan Bonde, from Southeast Guilford HS, Jaiden Evans, from Eastern Guilford HS, and Jahmier Slade, from Dudley HS…Final Four on Defense with Alex McCallop, from Southeast Guilford HS, Jhyheem Pittman, from Dudley HS, Braxton Veiga, from Eastern Guilford HS, and Logan Wright, from Dudley High School…

We had over 350 Player of the Year votes that came from here at the site and votes also came in by way of Email…Thanks again, to all of those who took the time to cast their votes, and those votes came in during the final run for Players of the Year, and votes have also been coming in on a weekly basis all high school football season long, as we had our weekly Steak n Shake Players of the Week…I feel like we have really gotten to know the players well this season, with all of the names and numbers that we have been posting, but it is worth it all, when we get to see these young men go on to college, and then we have some, that also go on to play in the pros/NFL…

Congrats again to all that took part in the process, and in the end, the Final Word came down, and it was in the hands of The Panel…

One great feature about the entire process is that we had three seniors in the Final Eight, and those were Jhyheem Pittman, Alex McCalop and Jahmier Slade…But the great news for the future is, we had five juniors in the Final Eight, and they were RJ Baker, Aidan Bonde, Jaiden Evans, Braxton Veiga, and Logan Wright, and all of those juniors will right back in here with us, again next season…

I look forward to seeing what these juniors will be doing on the home front local football fields, here in Guilford County, next season…It should be a lot of fun, watching and seeing what there is in store for these young men, coming up in 2022…

Here’s to a very successful 2021, and more football and fun on the way for 2022…

Happy Holidays, with a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all who are reading this post…Tell your friends and foes about us, and let them know, we are doing our best to promote the young people playing ball in Guilford County, in all sports, and at all levels…

Our goal is to get these kids some pub, maybe put their name out their in a positive way in the public eye, and to bring them the coverage that will get them in the minds and memories of those who follow sports, here in Guilford County…

Keep up the Faith, and keep on keeping on, and we say Peace on Earth and Good Will to all men and women, as we hit the Holiday Week…

More Sports Cheer coming your way here, as we carry on into the high school basketball season, in further detail….

  1. We saw some excellent work for Aidan Bonde this season, and are looking for even bigger things from him next season, in 2022…We have been following this young man since his freshman year at Southeast Guilford, and he has gotten better and made strides for improvement every year/season…Keep up the hard and persistent work…

As Mr. Phil Knight first said, back in late 70’s/early 80’s, “There is no Finish Line”…..
