The Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School Villains traveled to the mountains to participate in the Holiday On The Hardwood Christmas tournament hosted by Cherokee High School. Bishop’s first round matchup was the 3A Franklin High Panthers. The Villains got out to a strong start led by sharpshooter Riggs Handy who hit four three-pointers in the first quarter. Bishop fought off a tough second quarter push and finished out the game with a 10 point victory. The Villains had four players in double digits. They were all led by Handy who had 21, John Campbell poured in 14, Dawson McAlhany added 14, and Cal Barrett contributed 10 of his own. Bishop McGuinness will face off against North Buncombe tomorrow evening in the 2nd round.
