Page scoring:Jerron Blackwell 18 points, Josh Scovens 16, Blake McGowan 12, Tyler McIntyre 5, Malik Maberson 2, Devontay Deloatch 2
******Northern Guilford ran off to an early lead in the game and then Page took over…NG was having trouble getting their offense started, due to the ferocious defense of Malik Maberson, the Page Pirate…Maberson was everywhere, and Northern found the going very tough…The one-one-one matchup of Josh Scovens from Page, and Nolan Hodge from Northern Guilford, was well worth more than the price of admission…Scovens on Hodge, and Hodge on Scovens, was fierce action…Scovens really slowed down Hodge early, but Hodge got going strong in the second half…Page had the six-point halftime lead, but Northern took off on a 9-0 run to begin the second half, and the Nighthawks had found their groove again…Manny Elliott from NG got hit with a technical foul, and he had to spend some time in time out, but he came back very strong at game’s end…Northern got a super effort off of their bench from Michael Juergens, who contributed 9 points to the Nighthawk cause….NG also got a solid bench effort from Jordan Williams…Williams was really helping the ‘Hawks on the inside…Hodge, Elliott and Jackson Helms came out tonight and gave NG the surge they were looking for…Those three kids working together are a very solid core group, representing the men from out on Spencer Dixon Road…
(What’s that station where you can go to listen to the game??? GreensboroSports Radio)….

Page had Scovens digging in and he was as always, a handful around the bucket…Scovens also had the ability to step outside and make sure the Pirates were able to keep the ball moving, and protect it in tight situations….Freshman Jerron Blackwell was making sure Page was in this game in first half…Blackwell put up 12 points in the first half, and he along with Josh Scovens and Blake McGowan were Page saviors…We have seen McGowan have some big games this season, and tonight was no exception(He was also very tough in the Page win at NWG.)…McGowan had three baskets in the first half tonight and he had some very smooth moves around the basket…With McGowan in the paint on defense and offense, it allows Scovens to step outside and get the ball in better positions to help his team…Blackwell never let up, he was going hard to, hole all night long…Blackwell was covering seniors from NG on defense, and he was making life miserable for those guys…Grady Sherrill did a fine job of running the Pirate offense, but Sherrill is a pass-first/shoot-second type of player…He does the dirty work and he makes his teammates look better…Sherrill has a ton of heart and he doesn’t mind giving up the ball any time, in any situation, if it will give another Pirate a chance to help the team and score…Don’t miss any action from tonight’s game, go to GreensboroSports Radio now….

Doesn’t get much tighter than this one, and I can still see those three’s raining down from Jackson Helms and Manny Elliott, and when we look back, they had four 3’s between the two of them…Some nice inside shots/work by Hodge late in the contest, and Juergens was the part of the puzzle that the Pirates might have not been expecting…NG with just one Metro 4-A Conference loss(NG now at Western Guilford, next Tuesday) and Page on the way over to Grimsley, next Tuesday night…A cold night outside tonight, but the perfect night to cozy up next the hardwood in the Pirates’ place(not the fireplace) and enjoy a warm evening of high school basketball….Spread the word to all of the NG Nighthawk Nation and the Page Pirate Nation about this post game report, they may want to take a read and return to the scene of action…
