Glenn broke open a tight game in the final four minutes, taking advantage of Reagan turnovers on six straight possessions against pressure to defeat the visiting Raiders 67-50 in Central Piedmont 4A Conference play Tuesday night in Kernersville.

The Bobcats, who remain undefeated in CPC (8-0), won for the 15th time in 16 games despite a stiff challenge from Reagan, which trailed by only three (45-42) with six minutes to play. The momentum shifted on a steal & run-out lay-up by Logan Scaggs, who led Glenn in scoring with 15, to give the Bobcats a 51-44 lead with 4:40 left in the game.

But Glenn, which led by 10 briefly (20-10) in the second quarter before Reagan closed the gap, raced out to it’s biggest leads of the contest down the stretch, scoring 16 points off open Raiders possessions on 8-10 free throws off penetration and four FGs in the lane. The Bobcats’ lead of 17 at the finish was their largest of the game.

Reagan enjoyed a decisive 42-28 rebounding advantage, led by Jack Leonard’s game-high 13, but committed nine of its 14 turnovers for the game in the last half of the final period. Jalil Rogers led all scorers with 25 points, his sixth 20-point-plus game in the last seven, and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Raiders, now 10-8 on the year, return to the court Friday night at home for a CPC game against Davie County, which Reagan defeated on the road 52-50 earlier in the season.
