Game Report on Bishop McGuinness-Murphy Boys Basketball:John Campbell, Riggs Handy, and Dawson McAlhany lead Villains to Round Two of playoffs

The Bishop McGuinness Villains hosted the Murphy Bulldogs in the first round of the NCHSAA 1A State Tournament on Tuesday night. It was a heated contest all the way through. Three first half three-pointers from Riggs Handy pushed the Villains to a 1 point halftime lead. Bishop grinded through a tough 2nd half to earn a 10 point victory. Sophomore John Campbell led the Villains with 22 points while Riggs Handy poured in 21. Senior Dawson McAlhany scored 16 points. Bishop advances to the 2nd round of the state playoffs and will play on Thursday night.
