CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The High Point University men’s basketball team had the 2021-22 season come to an end on Friday night March 4th falling to Winthrop. John-Michael Wright and Jaden House led the way for HPU in scoring as Wright finished with 21 and House had 20 points.

G.G. Smith: I want to congratulate Winthrop. Good luck to them in their next game. We are disappointed in the result of the game; it was a tale of two halves. We did not shoot the ball particularly well in the first half and then we’re playing catch up for the rest of the game. I thought our guys really fought hard in the second half. We came up short and you can tell Winthrop’s experience helped them out with the start of the game.
