New word coming out this afternoon that Carolina Panthers are not interested in QB Baker Mayfield(Browns):What about Roman and/or Sonny???

Anybody seen Roman Gabriel lately???

He may need to dust off his old jersey and be ready to become the Carolina Panthers next quarterback….

Should they bring Roman back???

Why not, they have already passed and missed out on all of the other good passers….

Who will be the next QB for the Carolina Panthers???

Won’t be DeShaun Watson…The Panthers missed out on him…

Won’t be Russell Wilson…The Panthers missed out on that boat too…

Looks now like Baker Mayfield will not be fielding any questions in Charlotte during this year’s May minicamp….

So who will it be now??? I guess their best bet if they can’t get Roman Gabriel tuned back up in time, their best bet may be to go with Sam Howell, out of the University of North Carolina, in this April’s NFL Draft….

Sam Howell could walk to camp, since he is from Charlotte, and that would save the Panthers hundreds of dollars on travel expenses….The Sam Howell route may be the best way to go, and I have always said, “If you can’t get Sam Hill, go get Sam Howell”…

Sam Hill, Sam Howell, Sam Darnold, Sammy Baugh, Sammy Jurgensen, or was that Sonny Jurgensen…If you can get Sonny ready, Sonny could back up Roman Gabriel, and with Sam Howell as your #3 man, you would have an All-North Carolina quarterback corp…
(Please note our reference here is to the state of North Carolina, not the University of North Carolina…Roman went to N.C. State, Sonny was at Duke, and Sam was from UNC.)

No Baker Mayfield, and now the Panthers are looking for new quarterbacks somewhere out in left field…Sam Darnold, Phillip ‘PJ’ Walker, and Will Grier said he would come back if the Panthers would also carry Roman Gabriel as his backup….
++++++++++(More news coming in late this afternoon, that the Panthers may be on the fence, The Pickett Fence, and ready to take Kenny Pickett, from the Pitt Panthers, in the draft…Unless the Panthers can move up in the draft, someone will steal Pickett, before the Panthers can get to him…Pickett to the Panthers??? Better get Roman and Sonny warmed up, they may be our last and only resort.)++++++++++
**********Pickett from the Pitt Panthers to the Carolina Panthers…..Is it even a possibility that Pickett could go from Pitt to the Panthers???**********

Here is the most recent word on what is not working now for the Carolina Panthers….

Panthers reportedly not interested in Browns QB Baker Mayfield
from Zac Wassink, with YardBarker.com/www.yardbarker.com

The news seemingly only gets worse for Baker Mayfield on a daily basis in the early stages of spring.

Mayfield lost his starting job Friday when reports surfaced the Cleveland Browns had completed a trade with the Houston Texans for controversial star signal-caller Deshaun Watson. The 2018 first-overall draft pick was quickly linked with clubs in need of assistance at the sport’s most important position, specifically the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers.

One of those teams may already have removed itself from such discussions, according to ESPN’s David Newton.

The Panthers are one of several clubs that missed out on Watson and could use an upgrade over Sam Darnold. However, multiple mock drafts currently predict Carolina will spend the sixth-overall selection of the upcoming draft on former Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback Kenny Pickett, who presumably would rise to the top of the depth chart this summer and not compete with a veteran such as Darnold or Mayfield.

Per reports shared Monday, the Browns are in no rush to jettison Mayfield for pennies on the dollar, and no team has yet matched any rumored asking price for the 26-year-old owed $18.858 million in fully guaranteed money for the 2022 campaign via the fifth-year option attached to his rookie contract.

Mayfield’s perceived value is currently so low, it’s believed the Browns could ultimately cut him and open the door for a team such as the Pittsburgh Steelers to sign him on a discounted deal. Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints all added quarterbacks on Monday and, thus, have no reason to trade any assets for Mayfield before the draft.
