Jeremy Roach leads Duke Blue Devils past Texas Tech Red Raiders and now Blue Devils to face Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday in Elite Eight game

NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Final Score from San Francisco:
Duke Blue Devils 78, Texas Tech Raiders 73
Duke(31-6)/TTU(27-10)

Huge second half and late-game effort by Duke’s point guard Jeremy Roach, from Leesburg, Virginia…Roach took and made the big shots for Duke down the stretch, and the sophomore finished the game with 15 points, on 7-11 shooting from the field, and Roach connected on 1-2 free throws for the game…I think Roach had four points at halftime in this ball game, and in the last half, and again especially down the stretch, in the last 3-4 minutes of the contest, Roach was huge for Duke…Roach was hitting driving layups, pull-up jumpers, he was fading away and making big buckets/shots, and he just pretty much took over the game for Duke…

Huge win for Duke, and the Devils will meet the Arkansas Razorbacks, who upset #1 seed Gonzaga, in the other game from San Francisco, on Thursday evening….That final score was 74-68, in favor of the Hogs….

Duke got double-digit scoring from all five of the Blue Devil starters, with Paolo Banchero going for 22 points, Mark Williams added 16 points and 8 rebounds for Duke, Roach had his 15 markers, Wendell Moore Jr. added 13 points, and AJ Griffin scored 11….

As a team Duke was very strong from the free throw line, going 15-17 on their foul shots, while Texas Tech was 5-9, from the charity stripe…

The Duke Blue Devils have survived and advanced, it will make for an interesting game, when the Devils face Arkansas on Saturday…Duke met the Razorbacks in the 1994 NCAA Championship Game, and that game was played in Charlotte, N.C. The Hogs got the best of Duke and Coach K on that Monday night, 76-72….Corliss Williamson of Arkansas was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
