Tar Heel fans are saying “I Love You Man”, as Caleb Love has huge second half and North Carolina closes out Duke, 81-77:Heels on to Title Game on Monday night, vs. Kansas

It was 28 points from the North Carolina Tar Heels’ Caleb Love, and his Heels sent the Duke Blue Devils home from New Orleans on Saturday night, with the Heels ending the Devils’ season, by a final score of 81-77….We predicted the final score of this game would be 81-76, but we had Duke taking the victory….

North Carolina/UNC-Chapel Hill went on a 13-0 run coming out of the locker room after halftime, and it just kept on going this way, in the second half of this NCAA Tournament semifinal matchup, between the two Blue Bloods, with just four points separating the two teams, located just eight miles apart, and the “Battle of the Blues” lived up to the hype on this Saturday night…

Coach K will now step away, and Coach Hubert Davis, the former NC Tar Heel, who was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., Coach Davis will now lead his Heels into another potential epic meeting, as the Heels face Kansas, for the 2022 Men’s NCAA Basketball Title, on Monday night…Again, this game will not be available for viewing on CBS, the game is set for TBS, but you can watch the game for No Charge, on www.ncaa.com…Watched quite a bit of the game tonight/Saturday night, on NCAA.com…The game will also be ready for you locally, on WPTI/94.5 FM radio…(Jones Angell, Eric Montross, and Dave Nathan, will have the radio call.)

Some kind of game on Saturday night, with Caleb Love causing North Carolina fans all over the map, to stand up and say in unison, as the game was ending, “Caleb Love, We Love You Man”…..Love hit a late three that pushed the Heels ahead of Duke, and the Tar Heels never had to look back again….

Love finished the game 11-20 from the floor, and he was just 3-10 from behind the arc/three-point line, but boy the threes that Love nailed, were super-huge for Hubert and his Heels….Armando Bacot sparked the Heels in the paint, with 11 points and 21 super-charged Tar Heel rebounds, with 13 of Bacot’s boards, coming from the defensive glass…

North Carolina got 18 points from guard RJ Davis, with Davis making 6-of-13 shots from the field, his three-point touch hitting home for a 2-4 clip, and Davis was 4-4, at the free throw line…Caleb Love has that spurtability, while Davis seems to have the consistency that you need to make your basketball program a steady force…Caleb “I Love You Man” Love and RJ Davis, do make for a dynamic duo in that North Carolina Tar Heel backcourt, and you have to love how your guards have been playing, since the Big Dance got under way, especially if you are a die-hard North Carolina Tar Heels fan…

On Saturday night, the other two UNC starters, Brady Manek and Leakey Black, added 14 and 8 points respectively….The Heels got just two points from the bench, and those came by way of two free throws, from Puff Johnson….

Duke led this Semifinal Classic 37-34 at the half, and the Heels came back and stormed past the Blue Devils, with the Heels out-scoring Duke, 47-40 in the last twenty minutes of the contest….

Coach K will now step away, while the North Carolina Tar Heels will step back on the court for their Championship Challenge, facing the Kansas Jayhawks, on Monday night, for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Title…The best of 2021-2022 will be decided on Monday evening, from New Orleans….

We hope to have the recap from GoHeels.com later on for you, but this is how we saw and heard the Sounds of Tar Heel Voices, as they stopped and ended Duke’s run on Saturday night, in NOLA…..

They will say Hola from NOLA, one more time, and let’s see how the Heels do in The LAST DANCE of this year’s Big Dance, come Monday…..
