Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani was back on the mound Thursday and led the team to an 8-0 win against the Boston Red Sox.
Ohtani, 27, missed his last start in the rotation while dealing with a groin injury, but returned to pitch seven scoreless innings against the Red Sox. He induced 29 swings-and-misses Thursday, the most of his career and more than any other pitcher in a game this season, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

In addition to his pitching prowess, Ohtani went 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of singles and an RBI. In the top of the eighth, his line drive off the Green Monster at Fenway Park knocked his own number through the wall.
After the win, Ohtani has a 3-2 record on the year with a 3.08 ERA. While he’s struggled batting so far this year, his pair of hits raised his average to .240. He now has 13 RBI on the season.
