Final from First National Bank Field, with an 11am start on the Tuesday School Kids Day Game:
Bowling Green Hot Rods 6, Greensboro Grasshoppers 2
WP:Montgomery(1-2)
LP:Jones(2-2)
Hoppers(14-19)/Hot Rods(21-12)

Hot Rods' line:6-6-2
Hoppers' line: 2-7-2

Hopper Hitters:Jacob Gonzalez stayed hot, vs. the Bowling Green Hot Rods…Gonzalez was named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week(for games played vs. the Hickory Crawdads), after his first full week as a Greensboro Grasshopper, and he did a nice job of maintaining his pace on Tuesday…Gonzalez goes 3-4 with a HR, and two singles, and his homer was his fourth since joining the Greensboro team, last week…Gonzalez came up with RBI #8, after now 6 games with GSO…Jacob Gonzalez, now batting on the season, a smooth .652 through his six games played with the Greensboro Grasshoppers…Gonzalez was in the DH role for the team, on Tuesday….

Matt Gorski’s power numbers keep on jumping off of the charts for Greensboro, and on Tuesday in his first at-bat, Gorski hit a shot to left field, for his 10th homer of the year, and his RBI total jumped up to 27, on the season…Gorski goes 2-3 in the ball game and his season batting average now sits at .271…Five of the Hoppers seven hits in the game came from Gorski and Gonzalez batting back-to-back at 3(Gorski) and 4(Gonzalez) in the Hoppers’ batting lineup/order…Gorski also had a defensive gem in the game, making a catch of a ball in center field, and then making a super-shot throw to second base, to get the BG runner there…That throw by Gorski was a beaut…Perfect high-release and throw came into second base on a dime…Perfect throw by Gorski from the warning track, in center field…If an opening comes up in the outfield at Double-A Altoona, they need to get Gorski up there in a hurry…..

Gorski and Gonzalez, our Steak n Shake Players of the Game, from Tuesday’s contest…

Other Hopper hitters vs. Hot Rods:Hudson Head and Jack Herman were both 1-3 on Tuesday, and both also reached base with walks….

Tanner Murray was the top Bowling Green Hot Rod hitter, as Murray goes 2-3 with a home run, his first of the season, and Murray also drew a walk…Diego Infante also homered for the Hot Rods…

Hot Rod pitcher Mason Montgomery goes five innings to get the Win for Bowling Green, giving up two runs, on four hits, with two walks, and nine big strikeouts from Montgomery…Four innings of near-perfect relief from the Hot Rod’s bullpen, with Conor Dryer and Seth Mullen holding the Hoppers scoreless, over those four frames…During one stretch of the game, you had Hot Rods’ reliever Conor Dryer pitching to the Rods’ catcher Matt Dyer, and this gave us the battery mates of Dryer and Dyer….Not sure if Dyer is any relation to the former major league catcher, Duffy Dyer…..But, Dryer to Dyer, was a nice way to retire, on a Tuesday afternoon….

Our Time of Game was a very quick two hours and ten minutes(2:10) and today’s/Tuesday’s attendance came in at 6,159 fans on the School Kids Day Game at the ballpark….

Next Up:Bowling Green Hot Rods vs. Greensboro Grasshoppers, on Wednesday night at 6:30pm, at First National Bank Field….
