Omega Sports Report:Greensboro Grasshoppers father in Hudson Valley Renegades, on Father’s Day at First National Bank Field

from Omega Sports, “Your Neighborhood Sports Store”, on Battleground Avenue, in Greensboro….

Final from Sunday afternoon/Father’s Day, at First National Bank Field, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers:
Hudson Valley Renegades 16, Greensboro Grasshoppers 10….11 Innings
WP:Charlie Ruegger(2-1)
LP:Wandi Montout(3-3)
Hoppers(26-36)/Renegades(32-31)

Renegades' line:16-17-3
Hoppers' line: 10-11-3

The Steak n Shake Player of the Game for the Greensboro Grasshoppers was Ernny Ordonez….Ordonez goes 2-4/2 HR’s/BB/2 Runs/5 RBI…The only other Hopper with a multi-hit day was, Claudio Finol, 2-4/Double/Run…Jacob Gonzalez doubled for the Hoppers, and he was 1-6, plus Endy Rodriguez came up with a double, and he was 1-1…

Not a pretty day for the pitchers, as the Hoppers used 8 pitchers, and the Renegades, 7…Again, Ruegger the Win, and Montout, the Loss for the Hoppers….

The game had a little bit of everything….After hitting two home runs and driving 7 runs back on Friday night, Sunday afternoon saw the Renegade’s Everson Pereira come up with two Doubles, and three runs scored, and he ended up with two more RBI…Pereira scored the three runs, while going 4-7 at the plate on Sunday….The Renegades hit four home runs on Sunday afternoon, after connecting for six long balls back on Friday night…The Renegades’ Tyler Hardman went 3-5, with a HR/Double/BB/2 Runs/3 RBI…

Also on Sunday, the Renegades’ DH Trey Sweeney was ejected…The Hoppers’ pitching coach Fernando Nieve was ejected, the Hoppers’ skipper, Callix Crabbe was ejected, and Hoppers’ pitcher Cameron Junker was ejected…

Sweeney got the boot, when was arguing over the Hoppers’ Abrahan Gutierrez being called safe at first base after he collided with Renegades’ first baseman, Spencer Henson…The collision, or as some were saying the collusion, was the call of the game for a brief time period, because it gave the Grasshoppers a 7-5 lead heading into the top of the eighth inning….Hudson Valley’s Aaron Palensky would homer off of Greensboro’s pitcher Eddy Yean, in the top of the eighth inning to make it a 7-6 game, and in the top of the ninth, the Renegades would start off with two outs, and then somehow they were able to come up with a two-out double by Tyler Hardman, and if came off of the Hoppers’ top reliever Cameron Junker…Then Cristian Perez would single to left field, and that brought in Hardman to score, and the game was tied at 7-7, headed to the bottom of the ninth inning…The Hoppers’ skipper Callix Crabbe got tossed for arguing Junker’s balls and strikes count, and Junker was sent to the clubhouse, as the inning finally ended, and the home plate umpire did not like Junker’s reactions and he sent him the exit tunnel….

Wow that was some kind of crazy and dramatic game, with the collision involving Gutierrez and Henson at first base, and that is where the first indication showed that Gutierrez was out, the then the call was reversed, and Gutierrez was put back on the first base bag, while Claudio Finol and Jackson Glenn both scored for the Grasshoppers…

You had more, with the extra innings going wild, with the Hoppers down 9-7, headed to the bottom of the 10 inning, and then Ernny Ordonez knotting the game up again, with his two-run HR, in the bottom of the bottom of the tenth inning…The Grasshoppers left the bases loaded in the bottom of the tenth, after the Ordonez blast to right field, and Claudio Finol even snuck on base with an IBB/intentional-base-on-balls…Jackson Glenn and Dariel Lopez struck out to clear out the FOG(bases Full of Grasshoppers), in the Hoppers’ bottom half of the tenth…

The score locked up at 9-9 going into the top of the Eleventh inning, and the Renegades’ go on the warpath, scoring 7 runs to take a 16-9 lead, and they go on to win the game, 16-10….Lots of/plenty of drama in the Six-Game series with the Hoppers and Renegades this past week, at First National Bank Park….

The Hudson Valley Renegades(NY Yankees) take the six-game weeklong series, 4-2….

Sunday’s game:
Attendance:3,905
Time of Game-3:44

*********Greensboro Grasshoppers back in action, with a Six-Game series vs. the Asheville Tourists beginning on Tuesday night, at 6:30pm, at First National Bank Field…..**********
