Greensboro struck for those two big innings, five in the third, and then six more runs in the sixth inning, and this was not even a ballgame…It was blown wide-open…For everything that Greenville was able to do, due to Greensboro miscues/errors, walks, wild pitches, and other phantom blunders on Thursday night, all these things were happening to the Greenville Drive on Friday night, and for sure, the shoe was on the other foot…All that was going wrong for the Hoppers, one night earlier, it was now happening to Greenville on Friday night….
The Hoppers’ starting pitcher Jared Jones was a bit shaky in the second inning as he gave up two runs, to the Greenville Drive, and the Drive took a 2-0 lead, but that was the door-closer, because it was all over after that…Jones settled down, and he gave the Hoppers 6 1/3 solid innings on the hill…Jones gave up the two runs, on five hits, with three walks, and he had six strikeouts, plus he hit one Greenville batter…Hoppers’ reliever Ricky Devito was bringing smoke, as he worked 2 2/3’s innings, giving up 0 runs, on 0 hits, with 1 BB, and 3 K’s…The Grasshoppers only having to use two pitchers in their win on Friday night…
