High School Football Tonight in and around Guilford County, and our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week

High School Football Games coming up Tonight/Friday night
(All games to begin at 7:30pm, unless otherwise noted.)

Southeast Guilford(1-0) at Dudley(1-0)…This will be our Game of the Week, on GreensboroSports Radio…CLICK HERE for your link to GreensboroSports Radio…Don Tilley will join us for this week’s broadcast from Tarpley Stadium, on the Dudley High School campus…We will have the pregame show starting up at 6:45pm, and then the Shift_ted Kickoff will come your way at 7:30…Dudley looking strong with Andrew Attmore II at QB, RB’s RJ Baker, and Jailen Hicks, who both looked sharp last week, at Page…Cordell Bartley is a major threat in the slot, while Nasir Newkirk and Savoi Edwards give Attmore II, two very good targets at WR…And Attmore was able to connect with his receivers last Friday night, but one of the big things Andrew Attmore II and his Panthers have been working on this week, has been the center to QB snaps, with the QB in the gun…Way too many footballs coming back to Attmore II on the ground last week, and I am sure that is one thing that Dudley has been working to clean up, plus the overall penalties were another part of the Fix It list, after Game One for the Panthers…Logan Wright, DJ Parker and Kafi Abass were standouts last Friday night, on the Dudley defense…

Southeast Guilford got a good opening performance from their QB Bryson Serrano and their RB Tyshaun Wall…Cam Williams also was a help to the SEG offense…The SEG defense was led by Jordan Dollard and Camber Alcorn…Aaron Brown was also tough up front, at defensive end for the SEG Falcons…Wall will not be able to do it all, and it is always hard to run inside or outside vs. that stiff Dudley defense, so Serrano will have to be able to go upstairs to Williams, Mark Tillman and Matthew Caldwell…Having Aidan Bonde as their kicker/punter will allow the SEG Falcons to flip the field, but Bonde will need to get on his game early, and stay on it all night long…SEG is going to need some of his long punts and kicks, to allow them to stay in the game…And the Falcons have to make sure they get up field in a hurry, and that they cover those kicks with care and concern…

Smith(0-1) at Northern Guilford(1-0)
Northern got over 500 yards total offense, along with four TD passes and one TD run from their QB Jack Mercer in the Nighthawks’ Game One win over Eastern Guilford, 44-15…A very big second half for the Nighthawks in that victory over the EG Wildcats…Northern will need the running of Mark Johnston, and the receiving hands of Vance Bolyard, plus the defense will have to keep an eye on Smith’s Jeremiah Royster, as the kid can motor…HP Andrews had success vs. Smith, by running their QB Timothy Ratley II wide left…Saw him do three times in row, and the first two takes didn’t count, due to penalties…But he came back with the same running left play again, and it worked every time…The Smith defense is going to have to be able to bolt it all down, and Smith must stay together, and not get at each other’s throats, when the game is not going their way…Northern may be ready to show us something in this one, and Smith better make sure that they get their plan put up on the board first…

Northeast Guilford(1-0) at Western Guilford(0-1)
Northeast has their QB Cameron Hatchell primed and ready to get the ball to his primary WR product, Barry Tate, and NEG has a great chance to win this game, if they can carry over, and continue the type of play that they were showing last Friday night, vs. Ragsdale…NEG going (2-0) to start the season, would get a lot of the old-timers stirring again, out there on Hicone Road…Western will count on QB Herb McNeal and RB Malique Jones to get them going on offense, plus WG has a steady kicker in Tyler Priddy…Xavier Pressley and Timothy Baker will pace the Hornets’ defense…Tate will want to have a breakout game for NEG this week, and he would become hard to hang with…
e
High Point Andrews(1-0) vs. High Point Central(0-1) at Simeon Stadium, in High Point, N.C.
Timothy Ratley Jr. leads the Andrews team from his QB1 spot…Last Saturday vs. the Smith Golden Eagles, he was doing it all, with three TD runs, and one TD pass…Long TD run of 60 yards, and the TD pass covered 66 yards…I would think going into this game, that Tim Ratley Jr. would b considered Public Enemy #1 by the HP Central Bison…Could the Bison be thinking, “If we can slow this guy down, we can win the ballgame”…..Zion McCoy looking to get untracked as the top running back for Central…

WS Reagan(1-0) at Grimsley(1-0)
All indications point to WS Reagan as being a very tough opponent coming up tonight, for the Grimsley Whirlies…Grimsley must really focus hard on what Grimsley does, and what they can do the best…QB Ryan Stephens threw for two TD’s in Game One at Clayton, while his backup, freshman Faison Brandon went 3-3 for 48 yards and one TD pass…Brandon didn’t get much on the ground, but his passing was working…Alex Taylor and Terrell Anderson were more than happy recipients of Stephen’s and Brandon’s passes…You had Mitchell Summers with 129 yards and two TD’s on the ground for the Whirlies last week…Bryce Davis, Keshaun Jones, and Frederick Sellars helped get the Grimsley defense cranking last Friday night, at Clayton…Don’t really know much at all about WS Reagan, but Grimsley will be ready for them, after the Whirlies just slipped past the Raiders, 21-19, last year…

Reidsville(1-0) at Page(0-1)
The Page defense was pretty much right on time last week, vs. Dudley, but it is the Page offense that must get itself moving…Got to move the ball, and need those chains to be moving forward…Last week vs. Dudley, the Pirates’ “O” was running on low…It is not just one, it is a number of things that need priming…Got to get veteran QB Nick Williamson more involved with the offense…Need Jerron Blackwell getting more touches on offense..He will have to be a big part of the Pirate pieces to the offensive puzzle…More and more guys on the offensive side of the ball, will be getting the call…Reidsville is outside of the county, and we don’t have them all that clear on our radar, we just know Page needs to beat them on Friday night…

North Davidson(0-1) at Northwest Guilford(0-1)
Northwest felt good coming out of the East Forsyth game last Friday, and the NWG offense should be feeling good…They had success against a usually very tough EF Eagles defense…Tanner Ballou connected with Trent Cloud and Bristol Carter, on numerous occasions…Nine catches for Cloud, and four for Carter, and that resulted in three TD receptions overall…NWG got two TD runs from Ryan Debow, and he is a really tough kid, and NWG needs that…Also will see Ballou running more as the season goes on, because the LB’s and DB’s will start dropping back in deeper pass coverage, and will open up the field, for Ballou to take off and run wild…But, NWG has the offense locked and loaded, but the defense is going to have to step up, and stop the opposing team’s offense…If that does not happen, NWG will be going out and wasting some excellent offensive work, and it will seem to be, to no avail…Walt Turner and company are getting the job done, up front, for the NWG O-line…

Southwest Guilford(0-1) at WS Reynolds(1-0)
Reynolds raided HP Central last week, and SWG is set to face Central next week, but this is, this week…Good work from SWG QB Cale Lloyd and his primary receiver Darius Hairston last week, and they got time to connect, with Evan Johnson and the other ‘Boys carrying out their blocking assignments along the offensive line…Kane, Higgs, and Graves were extremely tough on defense, but you need to take these six men, and find six more that are ready to go all-in with them…

Glenn(0-1) at Ragsdale(0-1)
Ragsdale is still trying to find themselves, and it will take time to find out if they are really stepping it up, or if they are going to have to continue to rebrand their identity…Ragsdale must find a calling card, something to hang their hats on…Need key names to start stepping up, and having big games, that get our attention…

Eastern Guilford(0-1) at Burlington Williams(0-1)
Seems like he had his hands on the ball a lot last week, but Eastern may have to give it to him more…WR Ryan Larkin with 238 Total Yards, with 9 receptions for 95 yards, 139 yards on kickoff returns, and 4 yards rushing…Very solid week for Larkin last Friday night vs. Northern Guilford…You probably didn’t know, but Eastern actually led Northern 8-0, at the end of the First Quarter last week…The halftime score, was NG 15, EG 8…EG got blitzed in the second half…LB’s Braxton Veiga and Solomon Howell will have to put something extra in their tanks, for the second half of the ballgame…

Southern Guilford(0-1) at Providence Grove(1-0)
The Southern Guilford defense did not play terrible last week vs. Southeast Guilford…Dudley, Manning and Fields all had solid games on defense, and SG was able to pick off SEG twice, but the SG quarterbacks threw for four picks in the SEG game, and that will not get it done…Rydell Herbin is going to need to light a fire under his SG Storm teammates…Got to get that fire burning real soon, as in this week…Need it now, and need it in a hurry…
