4-A West Playoffs:
#32 Davie (4-6) at #1 Grimsley (10-0)
Davie County led by their QB Ty Miller who has gone 156-268 for 1,935 yards, with 22 TD’s/14 INT. Top Davie County War Eagles RB is Markel Summers…Summers for DC with 914 yards on 85 carries, with 10 TD’s…Summers with 302 yards receiving and 4 more TD’s…Top DC receiver is Brodie Smith, with 54 receptions for 803 yards and 10 TD’s…Grimsley’s QB Ryan Stephens with 1,366 yards passing with 13 TD/1 INT. plus Stephens with 557 yards rushing and 14 more TD’s…Stephens with 1,923 Total Yards…Summers for Grimsley(Mitchell/sophomore) has run for 1,240 yards on 185 carries, with 13 TD’s…Alex Taylor with 46 receptions for 746 yards/10 TD’s and Terrell Anderson with 39 catches for 743 yards and 6 TD’s…Both Anderson and Taylor will be at the Wake Forest vs. N.C. State game, on Saturday night in Raleigh…

#19 Southeast Guilford (7-3) at #14 Northwest Guilford (8-2) 7pm…This will be our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week on GreensboroSports Radio…We carried the first meeting between these two teams, with NWG claiming a 37-10 win, in a game played at SEG just two weeks ago…Mike Godette with 319 yards rushing and 52 yards receiving for Northwest in that first NWG-SEG contest…Friday night they do it again, this time at the R.L. Billings stadium on the Northwest Guilford HS campus…Pregame set for around 6:15, with the kickoff coming in at 7pm, on GreensboroSports Radio….
SEG QB Bryson Serrano had a big game on the road vs. the Page Pirates last week, going for 220 yards passing, with 3 TD’s, on his 16-18 passing…Season, Serrano is 95-173 for 1,378 yards, with 17 TD’s/8 INT. Top Target for Serrano is Cameron Williams with 29 receptions for 440 yards and 6 TD’s…353 yards rushing for Williams on 46 carries, with 4 TD’s..12 carries for 61 yards for Williams, vs. Page…The other top target for Serrano is Mark Tillman…Tillman with 21 receptions for 477 yards and and 6 TD’s…For NWG on the year, you have Godette with 1,324 yards on 154 carries with 9 TD’s, and Godette averaging 8.6 yards per carry on the season…That’s almost a first down, per carry…NWG with the Three Amigos at WR, with Trent Cloud, Bristol Carter and Prince Brown…Got to be one of the top trio group of receivers in the state…You have Taylor and Anderson at Grimsley, Newkirk and Bartley at Dudley, but with NWG get ‘the three’….Cloud with 58 receptions for 812 yards and 12 TD’s…Carter with 27 receptions for 612 yards and 10 TD…Brown with 26 receptions for 383 yards and 5 TD’s…NWG QB Tanner Ballou(junior) getting the Vikings the ball at a 58.6% clip, going 143-244, for 2,204 yards with 32 TD’s/9 INT. Lots of yards for NWG, and lots of Defense needed for SEG, and the Falcons have it, and they dialed it up at Page last week…

#25 Page (5-5) at #8 Independence (9-1)
Only loss on the season for Independence was their 36-35 defeat at the hands of Charlotte Catholic…Charlotte Independence Patriots’ QB Justin Little has had a very productive season, 136-196 for 2,132 yards, with 21 TD’s/6 INT. Little with 58 carries for 461 more yards and 8 TD’s rushing…Little with 2,593 Total Yards for the year…Balanced running for Independence with their top runner, Shaun Solomon…He has 449 yards, on 76 carries, with 8 TD’s…Also balanced receiving for Independence, Jaylen Springs with 31 receptions for 488 yards and 5 TD’s, plus Austin Cowick has 24 receptions for 406 yards and 3 TD’s…Southeast hurt Page with the pass last week, and Page will need to be ready to defend the pass, on the road in Charlotte…Looks like the best bet for Page will be to run the football…Maurice Andrews leads the Pirates’ ground attack with 820 yards rushing, on a hefty 165 carries, for 4 TD’s…The top runner for Page in recent weeks has been QB/ATH Jerron Blackwell…Blackwell with 601 yards running on the season, on 77 carries, good for 7 TD’s…Blackwell averaging right at 100 yards per game on the ground this year(6 games running the ball for the Pirates), and with 297 rushing yards over his last three games…Feel like Page has to stop the pass, and win the game with the run on offense…Page will need to get the ball to Blackwell, like Southeast Guilford needs to get the ball to Cameron Williams…

#31 Southwest Guilford (5-5) at #2 Mooresville (9-1)
SWG at the Mooresville Blue Devils(9-1), and we have to remember one key point on the SWG Cowboys’ season…They lost to (10-0) Oak Grove, by just 23-20, in their first game of the year…The Cowboys can compete…Mooresville with one of those teams where you start with their top runner, instead of their top passer…RB Jawarn Howell with 1,446 yards on a bountiful 203 carries, with 17 rushing TD’s…At 6’1/190, going to be a hard man to bring down, by yourself…Got to get a gang tackle group, going after Howell…Mooresville QB Jamere Cherry 63-142 passing for 1,164 yards, with 12 TD’s/4 INT…Top Mooresville receivers are Terrell Simonton with 23 receptions for 455 yards and 6 TD, plus Randy Fulmore with 19 catches for 404 yards and 3 TD’s…SWG top QB is Cale Lloyd, 55-119, for 795 yards, with 9 TD’s/7 INT. Top rusher for the Cowboys is Corbin Wilson with 75 carries for 537 yards and 8 TD’s…Top SWG receivers are Wilson, Joseph Horne, and Darius Hairston, all with over 250 yards receiving on the season….SWG will have to give most of their attention to the Blue Devils’ RB, Jawarn Howell…

3-A West Playoffs:
#27 Pisgah (4-6) at #6 Dudley (8-2)
These guys could end up being, The Bad News Bears, and there is no news available on the Canton Pisgah Bears…Dudley QB Andrew Attmore II has really come on strong as this season has progressed, and his progress has been substantial…Attmore II passing for 27 TD’s with just 2 INT., good for 2,034 yards on 123-174 passing, hitting on 70.7% of his passes…Dudley’s top RB has been Jailen Hicks, who missed two games, but still ended up with 725 yards rushing on 75 carries, with 5 TD…Hicks good for 9.7 yards per carry…Dudley also got steady rushing yardage from RB’s L.J. Southern with 467 yards, Asa Bonds with 408 yards, and R.J. Baker with 352 yards…Baker missed five games due to injury…Baker back in the lineup now, along with Hicks and Southern, and Baker also lining up in the slot, and at WR…WR’s Nasir Newkirk and Kordell Bartley very productive this season for the Dudley Panthers…Newkirk with 29 receptions for 622 yards and 12 TD’s, while Bartley has gone for 22 receptions for 508 yards, and 6 TD…If Dudley can get rolling this week, like they did last week, vs. Eastern Guilford, the Panthers should be fine/OK, and moving on to Week #2 of the NCHSAA Playoffs…

#23 Eastern Guilford (6-4) at #10 Parkwood (5-5)
QB Elijah Lowery has been running the offense in recent weeks for the Parkwood Wolf Pack…Lowery in place of Cam Enos who was in there for Parkwood over the first five games of the season…Lowery 69-127 for 813 yards with 1O TD/10 INT…The big man for Parkwood has been Wisdom Holmes, with 1,217 yards rushing on 187 carries, with 14 TD’s…Top Parkwood receiver is Demarion Reynolds, with 33 receptions, good for 402 yards and 5 TD’s…Again it is Holmes who EG must slow down, as he has three 200 yard rushing games on the season…EG QB Tyreik Boyd has gone 106-170 passing for 1,417 yards, with 20 TD/1 INT. Boyd good on 62.4% of his passes…Top EG runner is Jaiden Evans, with 745 yards on 103 carries, good for 12 TD’s…Javen Cole with 110 carries for 641 yards and 7 TD’s….If you are EG, you really do want to get that ball in Steven Murray’s hands…Soph WR with 28 receptions, good for 525 yards, with 9 TD’s…Ryan Larkin, with 292 yards receiving and Marcus Bynum, with 284 receiving yards…Murray with 1,181 All-Purpose yards……

#24 Southern Guilford (6-4) at #9 Hibriten(5-5)
The Hibriten Panthers QB Coby Wilson is the top runner on the team, with 1,002 yards on 109 carries with 17 TD’s…As a passer, Wilson is just 26-49, for 304 yards, with 3 TD/1 INT…Wilson is a running quarterback, and this is the man SG must stop….Hibriten has two other runners with over 500 yards on the ground, Absher and Earp, and they have 18 touchdowns between them…Hibriten with 3,006 rushing yards on the season, and to beat this team/Hibriten, you must stop their running game…Top receiver Earp, with just 101 yards…Got to get after that Hibriten running game…SG QB Jamias Ferere 60-123 for 1,311 yards with 14 TD’s/10 INT. Ferere with 3 rushing TD’s/99 yards…RB Rydell Herbin with 127 carries for 776 yards, with 5 TD…Conner Fields with 19 receptions for 496 yards and 5 TD…Jakyri Manning with 20 receptions for 358 yards and 4 TD…

High Point Christian Academy(4-6) at Hickory Grove Christian(9-1) 7pm…Game in Charlotte, N.C.
High Point Christian Academy QB John Blalock 27-45 for 263 yards, with 4 TD/2 INT. RB Ethan Devore with 144 carries for 1,010 yards, with 8 TD’s…WR Garrett Weldner with 20 receptions for 260 yards and 2 TD’s…Hickory Grove Christian Lions RB Anthony Hawkins with 164 carries for 1,619 yards, with 17 TD’s…WR Ryan Quesinberry has 12 receptions for 226 yards and 2 TD’s…Hickory Grove QB Jordan Adams has gone 22-53 passing for 434 yards with 5 TD’s/0 INT.
