Big Loss in PAGE and NEG circles as Mr. R.C. Lee has headed to his Final Resting Place

R.C. Lee, the father of former PAGE AD Rusty Lee, has passed away, and Mr. Lee has headed to his Final Resting Place…Mr. Lee supported NEG/Northeast Guilford High School, and he also supported and worked many a long night, over at P-A-G-E High School…Mr. Lee, at NEG, back when his son Rusty Lee was excelling in athletics for the Northeast Guilford Rams, as a high school student, and Mr. Lee, over at P-A-G-E High School, when his son Rusty was the long-time athletic director for the Page Pirates…

Mr. Lee was the man to see over at P-A-G-E on those cold nights, when you needed to get in the back door of the Page HS Mac Morris Gymnasium…Your hand could get sore and cold quick, from beating/knocking on that door as you were trying to get into that Pirate Den/gym, but if Mr. Lee was inside and near the door, he would let you in, in a minute’s notice…

And as he let you in, Mr. Lee always had a kind word for you…“Good to see you, how have you been doing, great to have you here with us tonight”…He was a super PR man for the Page Pirates…Plus, Mr. Lee treated everyone he came in contact with, with respect and dignity…And he didn’t really have to, but he did, as he was representing Page HS and he was representing his son, the man in charge of the Page HS athletic events…

White, Black, Brown, Green, no matter who should up on the scene, Mr. R.C. Lee made you feel at home, at his ‘home away from home’, Walter Hines Page High School…Your name or your skin color could be White, Black, Brown, or Green, and no matter what, Mr. R.C. Lee made sure you were a welcome soul, at Page HS…Bob White, Bill Black, Joe Brown, Dean Green, when you met Mr. Lee, he made sure P-A-G-E was the place to be…

Good man, no Great Man, and I didn’t know him on a personal level, I just knew him from my experiences from going over to Page High School, for the football and basketball games…He was a key part of what made Page great, back in the late 1980’s, the 90’s, the 2000’s, 2010’s, and right on up to the 2020’s….

Mr. Lee left his mark, and he left it at a good spot…Page High School, on Alma Pinnix Drive, here in Greensboro, N.C.

Mr. R.C. Lee, the man to see, the person many should want to be(more like), and now it is R.I.P. for Mr. R.C. Lee…Thank-you sir for service, it’s people like you and your wife, Donnie Stowe, and Ernie, that made Page High School a place where sports fans and followers could feel at home, from the time that they entered the Page parking lot, until the time that they drove away, at the end of the night/game….
