In the Northwest Guilford over Watauga Pioneers win up in Boone….Northwest Guilford junior QB broke his left wrist during the two-point conversion attempt after NWG had just scored on Watauga to take a 6-0 NWG lead…Tanner Ballou had taken every offensive snap for the NWG Vikings during the 2022 season, and now he was GONE…NWG proceeded to fall behind 21-6 at the half up there in Boone…But NWG got the bounce-back effort they were looking for, as senior athlete Bristol Carter took over at QB, and as the “Next Man Up”, Carter settled down and he led the NWG Vikings to the “Viking Victory”….

Northwest got 60-yard TD run by Carter, and he ended up with that one long TD run(57 yards and 159 total yards rushing), and he completed just one pass…But with Carter and Ryan Debow running, as NWG got two TD runs from Debow, and Northwest got a huge fumble recovery from DL Luke Rochon, and Luke ran it back for a touchdown, it all came together for Coach Kevin Wallace’ Northwest Guilford Vikings…Mike Godette with a 13-yard TD run for NWG…Game-Winning touchdown scored by NWG’s Bristol Carter…

Again, Tanner Ballou had taken every single snap for the NWG Vikings this season, but he goes down tonight at Boone, and in comes senior Bristol Carter, who was disqualified and not ejected in the NWG Round One win over Southeast Guilford, and BC leads NWG to the V-I-C-T-O-R-Y….What a win for our Guilford County rep Northwest Guilford, on Saturday night up in Boone, at Watauga High School…NWG at Weddington, next Friday night in Round Three of the NCHSAA Playoffs…NWG QB Tanner Ballou out for around 4 weeks with that broken/dislocated wrist…..
