Ricky Steamboat win in his “Return to the Ring”

from YAHOO! Entertainment:

“The Dragon” returned to the ring for the first time in over a decade.

At Big Time Wrestling’s Return of the Dragon event on November 27, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat competed in his first match since 2010. He teamed up with FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) to face Brock Anderson, “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal, and a mystery partner. Before the bout, Arn Anderson revealed former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis as the third man on Steamboat’s opposing team.

FTR competed in the first chunk of the match, and when Steamboat tagged in, Lethal avoided him. They eventually locked up, and Steamboat gained the upper hand with an arm drag. Wheeler tagged back in, and Aldis’ team ganged up on him. Wheeler rallied and tagged Steamboat, who made the hot tag with a series of chops. Lethal gained the upper hand and nearly choked Steamboat out with a sleeper hold, but the legend rallied. Harwood tagged in and cleared house. Steamboat and FTR locked in stereo Figure-Fours, and everyone tapped out, so Steamboat won his return match.

Steamboat is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, and he also starred in the NWA; he is a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, among other accolades. Before Sunday’s show, Steamboat, a WWE Hall of Famer, hadn’t wrestled since an FCW house show in 2010. Steamboat previously worked a number of house shows with WWE in 2009, and he also faced Chris Jericho at the Backlash pay-per-view that year.
