Chick-fil-A Tournament in Columbia, South Carolina:
John Marshall(Richmond, VA) 65, Greensboro Day School 53
Damon Thompson scored 31 points and John Marshall used a fourth quarter run to defeat Greensboro Day, 65-53, on Wednesday at the Chick-fil-A Classic.
JM will play the Columbus/Lexington winner on Thursday at 3:50 p.m. GDS gets the loser of that game at 9:10 a.m..
Thompson was 11-of-20 from the field including 5-of-`1 from three-point range. Jason Rivera added 12 points.
The game was tied at halftime and was 40-40 going into the fourth quarter. The Justices went on a 9-0 run to take a 51-42 lead. Thompson had a big 3-pointer during the run.
Virginia Tech signee Jaydon Yong led Greensboro Day with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
