UNCG Women’s Basketball to Host Black History Celebration Event Prior to Feb. 4 Game

GREENSBORO, N.C. – On Saturday, February 4, from 2:30-5:30 p.m., the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s basketball team is hosting a Black History Celebration event in conjunction with its Southern Conference (SoCon) basketball game versus Mercer University. The game will begin at 4 p.m.

The Black History Celebration event will be held on the UNCG Campus inside the Coleman Building. Our goal is to celebrate black history by providing a platform for student organizations and black-owned businesses to engage with the community and create a space for learning, growing, and connecting in a safe and fun environment.

The Spartans will have several local food trucks parked outside the gym, multiple local vendors inside, and a kids’ corner as part of the celebration. Women’s Basketball is inviting the Greensboro and UNCG community to the event. There is no cost to attend the actual event and $3 to attend the game. Some of the UNCG fraternities and sororities will also be represented and strolling at halftime.
