UNCG Baseball Hosts No. 19 NC State TODAY at 3pm

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team hosts No.19 NC State for a mid-week match up on Tuesday/TODAY, March 7th at 3 p.m. This will be the Spartans’ second ranked opponent of the season.

Last Time Out
UNCG swept Elon in two games and Rutgers in three last week.
The Spartans went into extra innings against the Scarlet Knights on Sunday pulling off their third walk-off win, 10-9.
It was also the first time this season that the Spartans had gone into extra innings.
Mitchell Smith went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs scored, one walk, two doubles, and a home run.
Zack Budzik (2-for-4) and Dosi Jonas (2-for-5) also had multi-hit games on Sunday.

Scouting the Spartans
UNCG is coming off five-straight wins, which is the longest win streak since the 2022 season, when the Spartans won five-straight games (May 27-May 29) to win the 2022 Southern Conference (SoCon) Tournament and earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
The Spartans were voted to finish third in the SoCon Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
UNCG has five players with two home runs this season: Dosi Jonas, Kennedy Jones, Mitchell Smith, Rowan Watt, and Dallas Callahan.
UNCG has 12 double plays this season, which is 11th in the nation.

Luke Holland leads the Spartans with a batting average of .500 in seven games played, while Caleb Cozart is batting .385 (5-for-13).
