Bowen and Ore shine in match against Agnes Scott College

Greensboro, NC – It was a cold and windy day but that did not stop the Greensboro College Women’s Tennis team from opening their 2023 Spring season at Greensboro Day School as they hosted Agnes Scott College in an early afternoon match-up.

The Pride opened the contest with a win at No.1 Doubles, as Sophomores Madison Bowen (Greensboro, NC) and Jada Ore (Madison, NC) defeated their opponents by a score of 8-1. However, the Scotties would pick up a win in the No.2 Doubles match and then win the third on a forfeit.

In the singles matches, Bowen and Ore each dominated their matches winning 6-0, 6-0, but Agnes Scott was able to win the No. 3 and No. 4 matches, along with two more forfeits to take the overall match-up, 6-3.

“I am really proud of how our team fought in the windy conditions,” Head Coach Pat Williams. “Our top half looked extremely strong on the court today and our other half played very well, but just came up short.”

Greensboro will return to action on Sunday, March 18th as they host Ferrum College. First serve is scheduled for 4:00pm.
