Price King Leads UNCG Baseball to 6-4 Win Against NC A&T
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team beat NC A&T on Wednesday evening, 6-4 at World War Memorial Stadium.
Junior Caleb Cozart hit a two-run home run scoring sophomore Kennedy Jones in the top of the first inning.
How it happened
Junior Price King pitched a career-best 7.1 innings, allowing one run, and only six hits for his second win of the season and fifth of his career.
Neither team was able to push a run across between the second and the sixth innings.
Jones was the only Spartan that had a multi-hit game, swinging 3-for-4. He hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh for a 3-0 lead and then a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth bringing home Dallas Callahan, GC Jarman, and Bradley Bott extending the advantage to 6-0.
NC A&T countered by scoring four runs in the bottom of the eighth cutting the deficit to two, 6-4.
With runners on first and second with one out, UNCG retired the side with a double play as Jake Wolf earned his second-career save on the mound.
