UNCG Baseball Drops Non-Conference Game to NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team fell to NC State on Tuesday afternoon, in a 6-2 loss at Doak Field.

GC Jarman was the only Spartan with multiple hits swinging 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and a stolen base.

Kennedy Jones, Mitchell Smith, Dallas Callahan, and Braylen Hayes each had a hit.

How it Happened

NC State put two runs on the board in the bottom of the first with a double to right center, allowing Jacob Cozart and LuJames Groover III to score.

After three scoreless innings, UNCG countered in the top of the fourth. Jones singled to lead off the inning and Zack Budzik reached on an error by an outfielder. With runners in scoring position, GC Jarman singled to left field driving them both in to even the score at two.

The Wolfpack took the lead back in the bottom of the fifth scoring three runs off three hits, for a 5-2 advantage. NC State was able to score one more run in the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run to right field Eli Serrano III for a four-run gap, 6-2.

The Spartans head to VMI for a three-game SoCon series starting on Friday, March 31st with a first pitch at 6 p.m.
