GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team looks to extend its eight-game win streak, as it travels to Charlotte for a midweek battle against the 49ers at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium with a first pitch slated for 5:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

· The Spartans swept their first Southern Conference (SoCon) foe with three wins against ETSU this past weekend at home.

· UNCG won with scores of 2-1 (8 innings), 14-1 (5 innings), and 9-0 (5 innings).

· Maddie Spell (5-4), Rhyann Jones (7-1), and Jorde Chartrand (5-4) earned the wins in the circle.

· Blayke Batten hit the Spartan’s fourth grand slam of the season in the 9-0 shutout. The shutout was the sixth of the season for the Spartans.

Chartrand leads the Spartans with a .364 batting average.
Brooklynn Maxwell is second with a .330 batting average and leading the team with 10 doubles.
Maycin Brown paces the Spartans with 27 RBI and nine home runs.
Chartrand leads UNCG with 58 total strikeouts in the circle after pitching 62.2 innings thus far.
Rhyann Jones is 7-1 in the circle.
Nationally, the Spartans are: 1st in walks (147), 9th in home runs (42), 12th in double plays per game (0.50), 18th in home runs per game (1.24), 38th in doubles (44), 43rd in slugging percentage (0.478), 52nd in on-base percentage (0.383), 57th in shutouts (6), 60th in scoring (5.44), and 66th in win-loss percentage (0.647).
UNCG is leading the conference in double plays per game, doubles, home runs per game, on base percentage, scoring, shutouts, slugging percentage, win-loss percentage, and walks.
Among the nation, Brown is 27th in home runs (9), 68th in home runs per game (0.26).
Brooklynn Maxwell is 28th in the nation in doubles (10), while Jessie Shipley slides into the top 100 ranking 75th in home runs (7).
Delaney Cumbie is 8th nationally in walks per game (0.88), 68th in on base percentage (.492), and 84th in runs per game (0.88).
Cumbie was named SoCon Player of the Week twice so far this season, while Spell and Jones were voted SoCon Pitcher of the Week once each.

SCOUTING CHARLOTTE

The 49ers are 19-12 overall and 7-2 in Conference USA.
They are riding a five-game win streak, winning nine of the last 12 games.
Charlotte has defeated #23/RV Arizona State, 11-5, and #11/#14 Virginia Tech, 3-2.
