GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team travels to Lexington, Virginia for Southern Conference (SoCon) three-game series against VMI starting Friday, March 31st.

UNCG fell to NC State in a mid-week match-up, 6-2.
GC Jarman was the only Spartan with multiple hits swinging 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and a stolen base.
Kennedy Jones, Mitchell Smith, Dallas Callahan, and Braylen Hayes each had a hit.

Scouting the Spartans
The Spartans are 13-12 in regular season play and 2-1 in SoCon play.
UNCG is second in the conference in double plays (22), sacrifice flies (15), and double plays per game (0.88).
Nationally, the Spartans are 22nd in double plays, 23rd in sacrifice flies, 33rd in stolen bases (45), 37th in hit by pitch (42), 41st in double plays per game, 42nd in stolen bases per game (1.80), and 78th in hits (243).
Jarman is nationally ranked 12th and leading the conference in sacrifice files (4). Dosi Jonas is third in the conference and 61st nationally with three sacrifice files.
Zack Budzik is batting .345 (30-for-87) in 23 games played with 18 RBIs, six doubles, and one triple.
Jones is batting a .350 to lead the Spartans (36-for-103), with 20 RBIs, four home runs, and four doubles.
In 37.0 innings pitched, Jake Wolf has a 3.41 ERA with 18 strikeouts and just 19 runs allowed. He is 1-2 on the mount with one save.
Caleb Cozart and Jones are the only Spartans with four home runs. Rowan Watt, Smith, and Jonas have three home runs, and Callahan has two home runs.
Seven Spartans have double-figure RBI, with Smith leading the team with 23 of the 146 RBIs.

Scouting VMI
VMI has a record of 14-12 so far this season, with a 1-2 SoCon mark. The Keydets defeated Wofford, 9-6, in 11 innings for their lone conference win.
VMI is currently on a three-game losing streak, coming off a 9-7 loss against Virginia Tech.

Series History

UNCG went 2-1 in the series last season. The Spartans won 12-1 and 7-3, while the Keydets won 3-1. UNCG holds the all-time record 34-18.
