GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team finishes its nine-game road stint with a mid-week game taking on Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, April 11th at Bill Masters Field.

Last Time Out
Samford took two of the three-game series against UNCG this past weekend.
The Bulldogs won 9-2 and 4-2, while the Spartans won the second game 4-2.
Matt Kemp tosssed one inning allowing no hits and no runs for his first save of the season in game two.
UNCG had a combined total of four home runs last week.
Caleb Cozart pitched 4.2 innings only allowing three hits and no runs in his fourth start of the season.

Scouting the Spartans
The Spartans are 16-16 overall and 4-5 in SoCon play.
UNCG is first in the conference in base on balls (168), third in the conference in double plays (29), hit by pitch (51), earned run average (5.88), hits (316), stolen bases (50), stolen bases per game (1.56), and double plays per game (0.91).
Nationally, the Spartans are 12th in double plays, 24th in double plays per game, 38th in base on balls, 45th in hit by pitch, 53rd in sacrifice flies, 54th in stolen bases, 58th in hits, and 68th in stolen bases per game.
GC Jarman is nationally ranked 33rd and leading the conference in sacrifice flies (4).
Zack Budzik is batting .333 (39-for-117) in 30 games played with 23 RBIs, nine doubles, one triple, and two home runs, and is nationally 81st in stolen bases (13).
Dosi Jonas leads the conference in runs batted in per game (1.28), and is second in home runs per game (0.32), nationally he is 49th in runs batted in per game.
Jonas was named SoCon Player of the Week on April 3rd after hitting four home runs and two grand slams.
In 46.2 innings pitched, Jake Wolf has a 3.28 ERA with 24 strikeouts and just 24 runs allowed. He is 2-2 on the mound with one save.
Jonas leads the Spartans with eight home runs, while Jones has hit six. Cozart has hit five, Rowan Watt has hit four, and Mitchell Smith and Callahan have hit three home runs. Daniel Cerda and Zack Budzik have two home runs each and Bradley Bott has one.
Nine Spartans have double-figure RBI, with Jonas leading the team with 32 of the 192 RBI.

Scouting Gardner-Webb
Gardner-Webb is coming off an 11-9 win against UNC Asheville, to add to their 20-10 record and 9-3 in the Big South conference.
The Runnin’ Bulldogs went 2-1 against UNC Asheville last week in a conference series.
The Runnin’ Bulldogs are leading the Big South in earned run average (3.87), fielding percentage (0.975), shutouts (4), strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.32), WHIP (1.35), and walks allowed per nine innings (4.07).
Nationally Gardner-Webb is eighth in shutouts, 17th in earned run average, 36th in hits allowed per nine innings (8.04), 38th in sacrifice files (17), 39th in WHIP, 46th in hit by pitch (50), 59th in strike-to-walk ratio, and 65th in fielding percentage.
Bobby Alcock is first in the Big South in earned run average (1.95), strikeouts (67), and hits allowed per nine innings (5.15).
Alcock is nationally ninth in strikeouts, 12th in complete games, 13th in hits allowed per nine innings, 14th in games started, and 25th in earned run average.
Jacob Marcos is second in the conference in sacrifice bunts (7), and sacrifice bunts per game (0.23).
Marcos is nationally 10th in sacrifice bunts and 21st in sacrifice bunts per game.
Jacob McCaskey is nationally 33rd in sacrifice files (4) and second in the Big South.
Peter Capobianco is leading the Bulldogs with eight home runs, Alec Burns has seven and McCaskey is next with six. Humberto Torres has five, Nate Anderson has four, Mark Black and Trevor Mattson have three, Bo Rusher III has two, and Curtis Robison has one.

The Spartans lead the Bulldogs going 3-2 in the series history.

Last season, UNCG won game one, 7-3, while Gardner-Webb won the second game 7-6.
