GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team hosts The Citadel for a three-game Southern Conference (SoCon) series starting Friday, April 14th. The first pitch on Friday has been pushed up to noon due to impending weather.

UNCG fell to Gardner-Webb, 3-1 in a pitching duel on Tuesday.
Daniel Cerda hit his third home run of the season in the top of the ninth.
Cerda went 2-for-3 on the day, hitting the Spartan’s only hits of the day.
Price King pitched three innings allowing zero runs and allowing only two hits.
Scouting the Spartans
The Spartans are 16-17 overall and 4-5 in SoCon play.
UNCG is second in the conference in double plays (31), base on balls (170), and double plays per game (0.94).
Nationally, the Spartans are ninth in double plays, 12th in double plays per game, 50th in hit by pitch (51), 55th in stolen bases (52), 57th in base on balls, 64th in stolen bases per game (1.58) and 65th in sacrifice flies (16),
GC Jarman is nationally ranked 40th and leading the conference in sacrifice flies (4), .
Kennedy Jones is leading the Spartans with a batting average of .338 (46-for-136) in the 33 games, with five doubles, 26 RBIs, and one triple.
Jones, along with Zack Budzik (.322) and Cerda (.314) are the three Spartans batting over .300.
Dosi Jonas is second in the conference in runs batted in per game (1.23), and home runs per game (0.31).
Nationally, Jonas is 64th in runs batted in per game.
In 46.2 innings pitched, Jake Wolf has a 3.28 ERA with 24 strikeouts and just 24 runs allowed. He is 2-2 on the mound with one save.
Jonas leads the Spartans with eight home runs, while Jones has hit six. Caleb Cozart has hit five. Rowan Watt has hit four home runs, while Mitchell Smith, Daniel Cerda, and Dallas Callahan each have hit three home runs. Budzik has two home runs and Bradley Bott has one.
Nine Spartans have double-figure RBI, with Jonas leading the team with 32 of the 193 RBIs.

Scouting The Citadel Bulldogs
The Citadel is 15-16 overall this season, with a 1-5 record in the Southern Conference.
The Bulldogs are coming off a series loss against Ball State, with Ball State taking the first two games 3-2 in 10 innings, and 9-8, while The Citadel won the last game 4-0.
The Citadel is second in the conference in doubles (62), doubles per game (2.00), and triples (9).

Series History
The Spartans lead the series in 44-36 record, winning all three games 6-3, 4-0, and 5-3 in the three-game series in the 2022 season. They also won their first game of the SoCon Tournament 7-6 on May 25.
