Hoppers take the victory on the strength of Eli Wilson’s three-run home run, that came in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring Wilson, Jackson Glenn, and Mikol Escotto…The Drive had led the game, 2-0, and Greenville got the lead, on Bryan Gonzalez two-run HR, in the top of the second inning…Home runs were the order of the night, and they made the total difference in the outcome of this ball game…
Greensboro’s starting pitcher Anthony Solometo struck out eight Drive batters, and the Hoppers pitching staff ended up with 15 total strikeouts, and they only walked two Drive batters…Solometo was followed by Mitchell Miller, who ended up getting the win, and Will Kobos came on for Miller, and Kobos picked up the hold…Then Cy Nielson closed out the ninth inning for the Grasshoppers, and Nielson grabs the save…Nielson gave up a double to the first man he faced in Bryan Gonzalez, and then shut down the next three Drive batters and he struck out two of them…Gonzalez wound up over on third base, less than ninety feet away from tying this baseball game, but Nielson left Gonzalez hanging, as Nielson got Eddison Paulino to fly out to right field to end the contest…
