GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team will take on its final ACC opponent this regular season traveling down I-40 to battle in-state foe No. 10 Duke with a first pitch slated for 6:00 p.m. at Duke Softball Stadium.

The Spartans enter the contest 26-17 overall with a 5-3 SoCon record. Duke is currently 36-8 overall and is 13-5 in the ACC.

LAST TIME OUT

· UNCG won its series against SoCon foe Samford 2-1.

· UNCG won game one, 4-3, and game two, 1-0, both in eight inning walk offs, while Samford claimed the final game, 4-2.

· Jessie Shipley hit the walk off sacrifice fly in game one.

· Delaney Cumbie scored the game-winning run in game two off a wild pitch.

· Blayke Batten homered in the bottom of the third during game three for her seventh homer of the season.

QUICK SPARTAN HITS

Chartrand leads the Spartans with a .375 batting average.
Chartrand also leads UNCG with 68 total strikeouts in the circle after pitching 81.0 innings thus far.
Brooklynn Maxwell is second with a .328 batting average and leading the team with 11 doubles.
Jessie Shipley paces the Spartans with 29 RBI.
Maycin Brown leads UNCG with nine home runs.
Rhyann Jones is 8-1 in the circle and leads the team with a 2.93 ERA.
Spell has seven wins (7-5) and has tossed a team-best 90.2 innings.
Nationally, the Spartans are: first in walks (191), fourth in double plays per game (0.53), tied for 17th in home runs (52), 22nd in home runs per game (1.21), 51st in slugging percentage (0.456), 53rd in doubles (55), 54th in scoring (5.28), 68th in on base percentage (0.373).
UNCG is leading the conference in 10 categories including: double plays per game, doubles, doubles per game, home runs per game, on base percentage, scoring, shutouts, slugging percentage, win-loss percentage, and walks.
Delaney Cumbie is third nationally in walks per game (0.93), while Samantha Lagrama joins her in the top 40 and is 40th in in walks per game (0.68).
Cumbie is 64th in on-base percentage (0.488) and 65th in runs per game (0.91).
Cumbie was named SoCon Player of the Week twice so far this season, while Spell has been voted SoCon Pitcher of the Week twice, and Jones earned SoCon Pitcher of the Week once and Jorde Chartrand was named SoCon Player of the Week most recently.

SCOUTING DUKE

Duke was voted to finish fourth in the ACC Preseason Coaches Poll.
Duke is coming off nine-straight wins, including three shutouts.
The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 10 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.
They are eighth in the Softball America poll, 10th in the USA Today/NFCA poll, and 13th in the D1Softball poll.
In the nation Duke is ranked: eighth in win-loss percentage (0.818), 10th in doubles (70), 16th in doubles per game (1.59), 19th in shutouts (12), 22nd in earned run average (2.08), 23rd in scoring (6.07) and batting average (0.313), 29th in slugging percentage (0.499), 36th in home runs per game (1.02), and 37th in on base percentage (0.387).
D’Auna Jennings leads the Blue Devils with a .445 batting average (53-for-119), which is 14th in the nation.
Jennings has successfully stolen 16-of-18 bases.
Gisele Tapia leads the nation in sacrifice flies with 10 this season.
Ana Gold is sixth in the nation with 16 home runs and 11th in home runs per game (0.36).
Gold leads the Blue Devils with 48 RBI, while eight others have double-digit RBI.
Cassidy Curd is ninth in the nation in hits allowed per seven innings (3.37).
Curd is 11-0 in the circle.

HISTORY VS. DUKE

Duke leads the series 2-0.

The Blue Devils came to Greensboro last season for the second meeting, where Duke won 11-1 in five innings.

The first meeting was in the NCAA first round on May 21, 2021 when then-ranked No. 13 Duke defeated the Spartans 2-0.
