The Grasshoppers scored 6 runs in the bottom of the first inning, to grab a 6-0 lead, and the Hoppers never looked back…On the night Greensboro scored 16 runs, on 18 hits, and they drew 10 big walks, that led to numerous Hopper runs…Big night for Jase Bowen, as he goes 4-6, with 2 runs and 5 RBI…Sammy Siani was 3-5, with 2 runs, and 3 RBI…Mike Jarvis went 1-3/3 BB’s, with 4 runs, and 1 RBI…
Starting pitcher Bubba Chandler worked five innings, and gave up two runs, on six hits, with 3 BB’s and 6 K’s…The Hoppers pitching staff struck out 12 Drive batters…The Drive went through seven pitchers, and the Hoppers ran out five of their pitchers, to work in this big victory…
On defense, there were two outstanding fielding plays turned in by the Hoppers’ shortstop Tsung-Che Cheng…He made a super ground ball play, with the third baseman Brendan Dixon running and sliding in front of him..Cheng also made a super throw to second to get a runner for a huge play to stop a semi Drive rally…Cheng also drifted back into shallow left field to grab a key popup, and that took away another Drive hit….
Catcher Luis Hernandez for the Hoppers, made a snap throw to first base to pick off a Greenville Drive runner…Hernandez made the throw from his knees and nailed the Greenville runner at first base…
