RE/MAX Revolution Report:Greensboro Grasshoppers hang on to top Greenville Drive on Friday night at FNB Field

Courtesy of RE/MAX Revolution, the Top Real Estate Sales Team in the Triad….

Final from Friday night, at First National Bank Field, in downtown Greensboro:
Greensboro Grasshoppers 2, Greenville Drive 1
WP:Jack Carey(1-0)/LP:0-2)/Hold:Michell Milliano(1)/SV:Cy Nielson(3)
Hoppers(10-3)/Drive(4-8)

Greensboro Grasshoppers-2-2-0
Greenville Drive- 1-6-1

Steak n Shake Players of the Game:
Offense
Luke Brown with a Triple and a run scored…
Jackson Glenn with a Double and 2 RBI…
Defense
Cy Nielson…Nielson got his second save of the week, and his third of the season, as he struck out Nathan Hickey to close out the eighth inning, and then Cy struck out Eddison Paulino, in the top of the ninth inning, to end the game..Two runners were stranded on base by the Drive, there in the top of the ninth…Nielson overall gave up one run, on one hit, he walked one batter, he struck out three batters and he hit one batter…It has been an exciting week for Nielson…

Greenville’s starting pitcher Angel Bastardo was outstanding also…Bastardo worked 6 complete innings, and that is working full innings, in early April, plus he gave up two runs on just two hits, with two walks and 11 BIG strikeouts..

The Hoppers winning pitcher Jack Carey worked just one inning, he allowed 0 runs, on one hit, with 0 BB’s/0 K’s…Nothing fancy about Carey’s outing, he was just in the right place, at the right time of the game…

Greensboro’s Michell Milliano struck out four Greenville Drive batters, and he has now struck out 17 batters on the season….Braxton Ashcraft got the start for the Hoppers, he is here in Greensboro on a rehab run, and Ashcraft just finished up his stint in Bradenton, Florida at the Class A level, earlier this week..Jack Carey got the Win, Milliano the Hold, and Nielson the Save…Pretty much a pitcher’s battle on this night….Bastardo was a tough-luck loser for the Greenville Drive, and the real duel was between the Drive’s Bastardo, and the Hoppers four men…

Hoppers’ catcher Eli Wilson was injured in the Friday night game, when he got popped in the head either by the baseball, on a pitch from Milliano, or he injured his head while going to get that loose baseball…Either way, Wilson had to leave the game, and he was taken back to the training room, where he received attention…Hoping all is going to be OK for Eli Wilson, he is a big part of what the Greensboro Grasshoppers team is doing this season…As he was leaving the field and headed back to the training room, he had a towel on the side of his head, and often times, that is not a good sign…
