Jase Bowen, really got going for the Hoppers, with his two solo home runs, his Double, and his three runs scored…You have to be knowin’ that Bowen will be glowin’, as he was showin’ his stuff, and that makes him our Steak n Shake Player of the Game…No extra rowin’, or garden hoein’, just Bowen towin’ the line and getting the job done for the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Sunday afternoon, at First National Bank Field…

The Grasshoppers got one hit each from Hudson Head(Double), Jackson Glenn, Maikol Escotto, and Angel Basabe…With Bowen scoring three of the Hopper runs, the other run scored came from Hudson Head…Bowen accounting for 2 RBI, with his two HR’s, one of them going out to left field, and the other leaving the yard, in right-center field…

Max Ferguson posted the only run of the game for the Greenville Drive, when he connected for solo home run, in the top of the fourth inning…Due to very solid Hoppers pitching, the Drive only came up with two hits in the game…Hoppers’ starter Po-Yu Chen went five innings, giving up one run, on two hits, with 0 BB’s/6 K’s…The Hoppers used four more pitchers, with Mitchell Miller, Will Kobos, Santiago Florez, and Eddy Yean working one inning each….If we were going to present an award to the pitching staff today, the award would go to the starter, Chen…

And yes, overall the Hoppers’ pitching was rock solid on Sunday afternoon…They gave up just two hits, and walked two Drive batters….
