Final from Tuesday night, at First National Bank Field, in downtown Greensboro:
Rome Braves 7, Greensboro Grasshoppers 2
WP:Ian Mejia(2-1)/LP:Anthony Solometo(0-1)/SV:Patrick Halligan(1)
Greensboro Grasshoppers(11-5)
Rome Braves(6-9)

Braves- 7-6-1
Hoppers-2-4-2

Big night at the plate for the Rome Braves Geraldo Quintero, who had a home run and a Double, and he went 3-5, with a 3 runs, and 4 RBI…Quintero is a little man at 5’5/150 pounds, but he sure had a big impact on the outcome of this baseball game…It is sort of weird though, as it seems like the Greensboro Grasshoppers got taken to the cleaners in this game, but you look at the Rome totals, where Quintero goes 3-5, and then Ignacio Alvarez went 2-3, with a walk and 2 RBI, and after that, the rest of the Braves did not hurt the Hoppers all that much…Kevin Kilpatrick drew three walks for the Braves, and that led to him scoring two runs in the game…

Big double by Quintero in the first inning…Home Run by Quintero in the sixth inning, then the Braves posted four runs in the seventh inning, to leave the Grasshoppers behind…Walks and a Hit by Pitch in the Braves seventh helped allow them to bat around that 7th inning, and they just had too many chances/outs, and by the later part of this game, the Hoppers could just not catch up…

Rome only used two pitchers in their victory, and that will surely strengthen their bullpen for the rest of this week…Greensboro only went with three pitchers on the night, and one of those was Brad Case, who is here in town on a rehab assignment, and he has been having to work through some very tough situations over the two games he has worked in so far, since arriving in Greensboro…

It was a steady start for the Hoppers go-to man, in Anthony Solometo, as the left-hander got things rolling on the hill for the Hoppers…Solometo went five solid innings, allowing 2 runs, on 2 hits, with three walks, and four strikeouts…Solometo gave up a double by Quintero, as one of his two hits…

Turned out to be a tough time out there for Case, as he gave up 5 Braves runs, on 4 Brave hits, and he one K, to go along with his 2 walks and he also hit a batter…Case also gave up the Quintero HR, in the sixth inning…One and two-thirds innings of work for Brad Case…

Hoppers’ reliever Grant Ford came on to finish things, entering the game to get one out in the seventh inning, and then Ford retired six straight batters over the eighth and ninth innings to close the ball game…Very clean baseball from Ford, with one walk and three strikeouts…

The Greensboro Grasshoppers offense was highlighted by the Mike Jarvis solo home run to left field, in the bottom of the sixth inning…Other than the Jarvis HR, it was one single each for Hudson Head, Tsung-Che Cheng, and Luke Brown…Hudson Head accounted for the other run scored in the contest by the Greensboro Grasshoppers…Steak n Shake Player of the Game, going to Mike Jarvis, for his long ball to left field…
