Braves(7-10)

Rome Braves- 6-7-0
Greensboro Grasshoppers-0-2-1

The Braves made quick work of the Hoppers, as this game only lasted one hour and thirty-one minutes…It was a seven inning contest, since Friday’s action was scheduled as a Doubleheader meeting, but the rains came in and they could only get in the one game, on Friday afternoon/Friday evening…It seems like this entire Hoppers-Braves series has been made up of afternoon games so far…Tuesday got going at 6pm, Wednesday was an 11am first pitch, and today/Friday, we got going at 5pm…

Coming up on Saturday, there’s another Double-Dip scheduled, with the first pitch on Saturday afternoon set to come in at 5pm, and then on Sunday, the start time lines up at 2pm….

On Friday afternoon, the Hoppers could only muster up two hits, and one of those was a Double from Jackson Glenn, and he took home the Steak n Shake Player of the Game honors…The other Hooper hit was a single from Sammy Siani…Rome Braves’ starting pitcher AJ Smith-Shawver worked five steady innings, allowing the two Hopper hits, no Hopper runs, with one walk and five big strikeouts…Smith-Shawver was on his game today…Jonathan Hughes, another strong right-hander came in to finish the game on the hill, for the Braves…Hughes faced seven Hopper batters, and he gave up a hit, hit one batter, struck out one Hopper batter, and got the rest of the Hoppers on on two groundouts, one line out, and one fly out…

The Braves scored one run in the second, one run in the third, two runs in the fourth, and closed out their scoring, with two more runs in the top of the seventh inning…Braves’ Kevin Kilpatrick 0-3/RBI, Geraldo Quintero 1-3/Run/SB, Keshawn Ogans 1-3/Double/Run, Bryson Horne, and Horne has been hot all week long, 1-2/HR/SAC Fly RBI/2 RBI, Brandon Parker 1-3, Brandol Mezquita 1-2/HR/BB/2 Runs, Kadon Morton 2-3/Run…Pretty busy night/afternoon at the plate, by the Braves…

The Hoppers starting pitcher, Braxton Ashcraft, who is in town on a rehab assignment, went four innings, giving up four runs, on five hits, with no walks, and two strikeouts…Ashcraft also gave up a solo HR to Mezquita…

The Hoppers fall in Game Three of the six-game series with the Braves, and for Friday, they could only get in the front end of the Doubleheader, before the rains came in washed out Game Two for Friday…
