GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) Baseball team faces Southern Conference (SoCon) Preseason favorite Wofford in its last home games of the regular season at the UNCG Baseball Stadium. On Saturday, UNCG will honor the 10 seniors in a pre-game ceremony.

Last Time Out
UNCG bats were alive with 40 total hits in the three-game series against Mercer this past weekend.
The Spartans fell to the Bears twice with scores of 10-3 and 14-9.
UNCG was victorious on Saturday 18-13, after an 11-run eighth inning.
During Sunday’s game,
Dosi Jonas hit his 14th home run of the season, which is now tied for fifth in the UNCG record book for single season home runs. He is tied with Dillon Stewart (2016) and Trevor Edwards (2012).
Mitchell Smith hit three home runs in the series for his fifth, sixth, and seventh homers of the season, while Bradley Bott had his second and Kennedy Jones had his ninth.
Luke Thomas came in relief for the Spartans in the bottom of the eighth on Saturday, allowing just two hits and stranding those two runners during his third win of the season.

Scouting the Spartans
The Spartans are 19-25 overall and 6-9 in SoCon play.
UNCG is leading the conference in double plays (44), and double plays per game (1.00).
Nationally, the Spartans are fifth in double plays and double plays per game, 66th in stolen bases (65), 69th stolen bases per game (1.48), 73rd in both hit-by-pitch (61) and shutouts (2).

Dosi Jonas is leading the Spartans with a batting average of .349 (44-for-126) in 36 games, with a team-best 13 doubles.
Jonas, Kennedy Jones (.343), Daniel Cerda (.305) Zack Budzik (.304), and GC Jarman (.302) are the five Spartans batting over .300.
Jonas is leading the conference in home runs per game (0.39) and slugging percentage (0.786) and is second in runs batted in per game (1.22).
Nationally, Jonas is 20th in slugging percentage, 32nd in home runs per game, and 60th in runs batted in per game.
In 57.1 innings pitched, Jake Wolf has a 5.34 ERA with 32 strikeouts and just 34 runs allowed. He is 3-2 on the mound with one save in 20 appearances.
Jonas leads the Spartans with 14 home runs, while Jones has hit nine. Caleb Cozart, Smith, and Dallas Callahan have hit six each. Rowan Watt and Cerda have hit four home runs each, while Zack Budzik has hit three home runs and Bradley Bott has one.
10 Spartans have double-figure RBI, with Jonas leading the team with 44 of the 259 RBIs.

Scouting Wofford
The Terriers are coming off a 13-3 loss against No. 6 University of Tennessee, with a season record of 32-12 overall and 8-4 in the SoCon.
Wofford is leading the conference in earned run average (5.24), hit by pitch (83), on-base percentage (0.435), runs (402), sacrifice bunts (62), scoring (9.1), strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.75), WHIP (1.35), WL percentage (0.727), walks allowed per nine innings (2.30).
Nationally the Terriers are first in walks allowed per nine innings and sacrifice bunts. They are also third in strikeout-to-walk ratio and stolen bases per game (2.86), fourth in stolen bases (126), sixth in batting average (0.325), seventh in on-base percentage, eighth in scoring, ninth in runs, 15th in hit by pitch, 16th in hits, and 18th in WL percentage.
Ryan Galanie (x2), David Wiley, and Trey Yunger have all been named SoCon Player of the Month this season. Galanie was named player of the month in March and February.
Mike Eggert was named SoCon Pitcher of the Week and Lucas Mahlstedt was named SoCon Pitcher of the Month for April.
Galanie leads Wofford with a .434 batting average (75-for-173), with 13 doubles, 14 home runs, and 59 RBIs. Galanie is seventh nationally in batting average, sixth in hits per game (1.74), 18th in total bases (130), runs (57), and runs batted in (59), 19th in on-base percentage (0.534), and 26th in runs batted in per game (1.37).
Lucas Mahlstedt has an era of 2.15 to lead the Terriers in the 58.2 innings pitched, to lead the conference, and be nationally 28th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.67).
Series History

UNCG leads the all-time record against Wofford 51-31, with the Terriers sweeping the Spartans last year in the regular season three-game series in Greenville, S.C.

The Spartans fell to the top-seeded Terriers, 6-3 in UNCG’s second game of the SoCon Tournament, but then the Spartans defeated them twice to, 10-2, and 12-2 (7 innings) to win the 2023 SoCon Tournament, and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
