Aaron Rodgers was traded by the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets for some premier draft picks prior to the 2023 NFL Draft. Since that time, the Jets have garnered a great deal of praise and have high expectations for success in the 2023 season.

However, one former NFL quarterback, Scott Mitchell, believes fans should temper those expectations. He had some bold words regarding Rodgers and New York’s chances to make the Super Bowl on his podcast, “Unrivaled.”

Mitchell, who played for four NFL teams in his 10-year career, did not hold back on his opinion of how effective Rodgers will be and what the Jets’ chances are to make it to and win the Super Bowl:

“I don’t believe he will get [the Jets] to the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers may be overrated and washed up. He’s going to get washed up with the Jets.”

Mitchell put the odds of the Jets winning the Super Bowl at around “12%.”

When the NFL schedules were released on Thursday, more and more people began to realize just how difficult of a time Aaron Rodgers and the Jets will have in a stacked AFC. Six of their first eight games are against 2022 NFL Playoffs teams, and the two that were not are the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots. Both teams are expected to be much improved in 2023.

In other words, Rodgers and the Jets have their work cut out for them. Due to his age and his poor 2022 season, fewer and fewer people think the 39-year-old quarterback will be able to push the Jets over the hump.
