The Morning Run:Nothing like the smell of the good ole garbage truck and a load of new-mowed grass on a Humid Friday Morning

Out there on that six-mile run this morning and getting it knocked out in about 54 minutes, but wow, I have to be honest, there really is nothing like the smell of one of those garbage trucks, swelling and smelling through the neighborhoods on a Friday morning…

The smell from a garbage truck can permeate the air over a given x-mile radius, and it sticks around for a good while…That is the sort of smell on a humid Friday morning, that will linger with you for the rest of the day…

And then you have today’s humidity, that was climbing as the Morning Run ran on…Man, she was humid out there this morning…It was like we were getting the Charlie Griffin Effect…He died out there running one morning about 10 years, and it was the humidity that took down the former Western Guilford HS head football coach…

Today, very little sun, but on The Run, there were thick clouds, and those clouds were full of moisture and humidity….And to top it all off, some folks had been mowing their yard on one street, and when you get the humidity of an early morning, and you add in the extra humidity that comes from that newly-mowed grass, you have nothing but a real sweaty shirt on your hands…The sweat will come pouring off of you….

This was the day that the Lord hath made, and let us rejoice and be sweaty, and we may be lucky and drop about 5-7 pounds over the morning workout, and that is always a good thing…

Always a good thing, when you make it up that last hill, on the morning run…It is done, you had some fun, and here comes the sun…All of that equals, Mission Accomplished…Never a Mission Impossible, but Always a Mission Accomplished….
