Whatever Happened to Tyler Dearman(Southern Guilford HS/Guilford) Basketball??? You will never guess where he is, and what he is doing these days!!!

You know how it goes…There’s nothing like a good mystery novel, or a good mystery short story on a rainy Sunday afternoon….Well, the rain has now stopped, and today’s rains did not wash the crops away, and so goes the theme to our next post here….What is this kid/young man Tyler Dearman, doing during the Summer of ’23???

If we could go inside and repeat the playing and the parts of The Summer of ’42, we might have a juicer story/post for you, but I do think we have the makings of a Super Sunday Mystery Slasher on our hands…

So join us, and stick with us, as we take this quick trip down the lane….’The Mystery/Memory Lane’….

“And this is how we do it”……….

Ran into the former Southern Guilford High School star basketball player the other day…He was up in the Press Box at the Greensboro Grasshoppers game…

When this kid/guy stood up, I asked him if he had been playing any basketball lately, and he so no, I have been busy here working on video and production work, with my Greensboro Grasshoppers supervisor, Gavin Grace…

I then asked the guy, did you play basketball, you do have some height, and he said YES, I played in high school at Southern Guilford HS for the Storm and Coach Evan Fancourt, and I played at Guilford College for Coach Tom Palumbo…And the next thing I said was, Oh Yeah, I know you…You’re the Tyler Dearman….(In reality, I think he told me first that he was Tyler Dearman, as the light was going off in my head, but you get the picture/point.)

I told this fellow, you are the kid who used to tear it up for about 20 points a game for the Southern Guilford Storm…And then you went on to Guilford College and you killed it for the Quakers….We used to write about you all the time, back in the day, at GreensboroSports.com…So the kid that came out of Southern Guilford HS, and then went to Guilford College, he is now a big part of the daily video team, and he helps put The Show on the board for the Greensboro Grasshoppers….
