2023 North Carolina Coaches’ Association East-West All-Star Game
The West’s Markquan Gilbert (Ben L. Smith HS) was named the game’s Most
Outstanding Player.
**********Markquan Gilbert, from Ben L. Smith High School, was the MVP of the 2023 Men’s All-Stars Basketball game, and Quan finished with a game-high 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds…One of his best games, and he picked a great night to be out front…Gilbert might be a guard, but as we were noting, he is one very strong and tough rebounding guard…
(And I almost forgot, Quan Gilbert also had a team-leading/game-leading 5 assists.)
Quan will not get much time to relax, as he will be on the road tomorrow/Tuesday and headed down to N.C. Wesleyan University for his college orientation…His college coach will be John Thompson, and Coach Thompson is excited about having Quan come to Wesleyan and for him to be a part of the Battling Bishops Basketball program….Coach John Thompon told me that tonight/Monday, and I have known Coach John Thompson for over 30 years….He used to be an assitant coach at UNCG, and at Guilford College….He is ready for the Markquan Gilbert Movement, and that all starts tomorrow, when Quan Gilbert heads down to Rocky Mount, N.C. for his orientation…
Check out our Quan Gilbert postgame interview below, and he touches on many different parts of his basketball game and his career…He is the 2023 MVP, and let’s see what he has to say….Markquan/Quan Gilbert from Ben L. Smith High School, and CLICK ON BELOW for his video show, on the go…(This is a good kid/young man, and we are proud to have him represent our city, and all of the Southside, out there on South Holden Road.)**********
