On The Morning Run:Looking at all of those License Plates from the Different States, and the Sears Building is going down fast

On that nice LONG Friday Morning Run again this morning, and on The Morning Run, you see things that you don’t or won’t get a chance to see at other times…

Was noticing this morning, all of those license plates from the different states, as the cars where passing by…Virginia runs their plates on the front and back of their cars…And when I see those Virginia license plates, I think of my old running teacher from college, up at Liberty University, and that would be Dr. David Horton…Dr. Horton was well known for his long runs, going from California to New York, from Mexico to Canada, and from Georgia to New Hampshire, and other long runs like those…He did not run those distances at a slow pace either…He held so many land race speed records for ultra marathons, I could not begin to count them all…

Then you have the South Carolina license plates, and they make me think of Myrtle Beach, and of Pedro at South of the Border, and I think that is just outside of Bennettsville…Man those South Carolina plates can usually be seen all over the place as you run down these local roads and city streets…And what was that town in S.C. that has that big water tower shaped like a Peach, and you drive by it, headed down Highway 85 going South…Is that Gaffney???

Then you have Tennessee..Makes me think of professional wrestler Jerry “The King” Lawler, who has been at it for a really long time…Then there’s the man that was Glen Campbell, and his song Country Boy, “you got your feet in LA, but your minds on Tennessee, looking back, I can remember a time, when you sang your songs for free, Country Boy, take a look at yourself and everything you own, and now and then, my mind keeps going home, home, home, home”….Old Glen Campbell and The Goodtime Hour on CBS, remember that one???

Then you have those license plates from our good friends down in Georgia….Those Georgia Peaches really knock me out at night, said one old songster…Plus you have the Atlanta Braves to set the scene for the state…

The California license plates that we see, always make me think of California Dreaming on such a Winter’s Day…Plates from Oklahoma make me think of that song, “You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma”, as sung by David Frizzell and Shelley West…There are some real good people out there in Oklahoma…

The old Pennsylvania plates always make me think of Quaker State Motor Oil, although you don’t see it around, much anymore….Plus when I see the New Jersey plates these days, it reminds me of former governor Chris Christie…Those NJ plates were always beige with black print…

More miles of running on down the road, and more license plates…Those NC plates should still read “First in Flight” on most vehicles registered in this state…Occasionally, I will see some plates from Florida, and maybe a few from Ohio, but that really covers most of what I have been seeing, but I must not leave out that great state of West Virginia, I still see several of their plates drifting around our town…And sometimes you can still see a few Maryland plates popping up here and there…

But that pretty much has us covered for this trip up past the Friendly Shopping Center, on a Friday morning, but we must add in that the old Sears Building is coming down fast, due to demolition…The old Sears Car Care Building is gone…The main Sears building is due to topple next….DH Griffin, and their fearless leader, David Griffin, are on the scene….

And we have been on the scene today, with another installment of The Morning Run…It was fun, but we are done, and we will leave you this morning with three videos that fit with the direction our trip took on today….

It was nothing more than a Peaceful Easy Feeling…

Always good to be out there, and to know, that there are “Angels Among Us”….

Finally, Glen Campbell with that tune, “Country Boy”….
