“This field illustrates the new points priorities very clearly, “executive director Mark Brazil said. A lot of guys are working to get into the top 70 and make the playoffs, and a lot are working to stay in the top 50 or make it into the top 50 after the first playoff event to be eligible for the designated events next season. And several are looking to make into the top Comcast Business TOUR Top 10 and a shot at that bonus money. The bottom line is the Wyndham Championship field is very strong, and we should have an incredible tournament next week.”

Burns won the World Golf Championships – Dell Technologies Match Play earlier this season; it was his fifth-career win. His other top finishes include sixth at the Valspar Championship, tied for sixth at the Charles Schwab Challenge and tied for 11th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. The Louisiana State University alumnus finished tied for 13th at the 2020 Wyndham Championship in his only previous appearance here. He represented the United States in the Presidents Cup last fall and the Arnold Palmer Cup in 2017
