Friday night, the WS Dash had four Home Runs, and two Doubles…The Dash got back-to-back HR’s from DJ Gladney and Michael Turner in second inning, and both of their home runs, were of the solo HR variety…The Dash got another HR in the fifth inning, when Colson Montgomery went LONG, for a two-run blast, to right field…Then Wes Kath cleared the yard, with a Dash homer to right field, in the top of the sixth inning…
The Dash picked up key Doubles from Tim Elko and Colson Montgomery…The Dash were able to cash in on both of those doubles, as they helped to lead to runs scored by Elko and Montgomery…
On the flip side of the coin, the Greensboro Grasshoppers got HR’s from Brenden Dixon, with a two-run shot to left field, and Shawn Ross let his home run ride to right field…Dixon and Ross with Long Balls for the Hoppers, and you can see it was Four HR’s for the Dash, and Two HR’s for the Hoppers…Greensboro got Doubles from Josiah Sightler and Francisco Acuna…Hoppers with Two Doubles and Dash with Two Doubles, so the Doubles will cancel each other out, but in the end, the WS Dash out extra-base hit the GSO Hoppers, Four HR’s for Dash, and Two HR’s for Hoppers…

Dash Launch Four Home Runs, Win 7-4
Long ball pushes Winston-Salem to game four win
GREENSBORO, NC – After dropping the first three games of a six-game set, the Winston-Salem Dash clubbed its way to a 7-4 victory over the Greensboro Grasshoppers Friday evening at First National Bank Field.
Trailing 1-0 in the second inning, Winston-Salem (44-46) started the launch party. DJ Gladney, fresh off a stint on the injured list, got a high fastball and drilled it over the wall in left tying the game at one. Next batter, Michael Turner, got a low fastball and went back-to-back with Gladney, blasting his third homer on the season giving the Dash a 2-1 lead.
Greensboro (47-44) tied it up immediately. Shawn Ross homered to right center knotting it up at two. In the third, the Dash regained the lead on an error by Grasshopper’s catcher, Wyatt Hendrie, pushing Winston-Salem back in front, 3-2.
The two sides continued to go back and forth in the middle innings. Greensboro regained the advantage on a two-run homer, before Winston-Salem took the lead for good.
In the fifth, Loidel Chapelli singled to lead off the frame and came home to score after White Sox top prospect, Colson Montgomery, pulled a two-run shot to right field putting the Dash in front for good, 5-4. Winston-Salem added a run later in the inning when Gladney singled home a run giving the Dash’s bullpen a two-run cushion.
Dash starter Connor McCullough battled across five innings allowing four runs and punching out five, leaving the Winston-Salem bullpen responsible for the final 12 outs. In the sixth, Winston-Salem bought some insurance.
Wes Kath led off the inning launching his sixth long ball on the year giving Winston-Salem a 7-4 lead. Kole Ramage was the first in out of the bullpen and dominated over two frames. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native got through two shutout innings allowing only one hit before Everhett Hazelwood came in for the eight. The righty set down the Grasshoppers in order picking up a strikeout, handing it off the Eric Adler looking for his third save on the season.
The Wake Forest product sat down two of the first three he faced, but allowed a single and walked the bases loaded bringing the tying run to the plate. With the bases juiced though, Adler got Will Matthiessen to ground out closing out the 7-4 win for Winston-Salem.
Eight of the nine batters in the Winston-Salem order recorded a hit, with Gladney picking up three knocks leading the way.
The Dash and Grasshoppers meet for game five on Saturday. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. from First National Bank Field.
