Hoppers with 13 runs on 14 hits, with the Bradenton Bunch getting hot again at the plate…Jack Brannigan goes 3-5/HR/2 Runs/3 RBI…Josiah Sightler was 3-5/Run/3 RBI…Both Brannigan and Sightler are recent call-ups from the Bradenton Marauders, the Class A team for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and in the Florida State League…Those two fellas have been on fire lately, and tonight Maikol Escotto was right there with them, as he went 3-5/HR/3 Runs/2 RBI…Between Brannigan, Sightler, and Escotto, there they go with 9 of the Greeensboro team’s 14 hits right there…Those three guys also scored 6 of the Hoppers 13 hits right there…

Hoppers starting pitcher, Bubba Chandler worked 5 innings, allowing 1 Run, on 2 Hits, with 0 BB/4 K’s/HR…Chandler was in the game when the rains came, and he could not return for the sixth inning, due to the over an hour wait, due to the rain and lightning…Hoppers Eddy Yean came for two innings, after the rains, and Yean gave up 1 Run, on 1 Hit, with 1 BB/1 K, and Yean did not give up a home run…Finisher Valentin Linares goes two innings, to close things out, and Linares allows two runs on four hits, with 0 BB’s/3 K’s, and he gave up one home run…

Grasshoppers Take Down the Dash, 13-4 on Saturday Evening

GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro Grasshoppers take down the Winston-Salem Dash, 13-4 on Saturday, July 29. The Grasshoppers improved to 12-16 in the second half of the season while the Dash fell to 10-18. Greensboro outhit Winston-Salem 14-7 as the Dash had three mishaps.

Leading at the dish for the Grasshoppers was infielder Maikol Escotto as he went 3-5 with a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. Luke Brown and Jack Brannigan each also recorded a home run for Greensboro.

Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Bubba Chandler as he tallied four strikeouts and gave up two hits and one run on five innings of work. Chandler recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 6-3 on the season.

Kohl Simas took the loss for the Dash and fell to 5-6 on the season.

The Grasshoppers finish its home series against the Winston-Salem Dash tomorrow, Sunday, July 30 at 2:00 PM. Come out to First National Bank Field for Family Funday Sunday at the Hoppers game.
