Grasshoppers Take Down the Crawdads, 8-1 on Saturday Evening

GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro Grasshoppers take down the Hickory Crawdads, 8-1 on Saturday, September 2. The Grasshoppers improved to 29-29 in the second half of the season while the Crawdads fell to 37-21. Greensboro outhit Hickory 8-4 as the Crawdads had one mishap.

Leading at the dish for the Grasshoppers was outfielder Hudson Head as he went 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored. Following close behind was catcher Wyatt Hendrie as he went 2-4 with a double and three RBI.

Starting on the mound was righthanded pitcher Bubba Chandler as he tallied four strikeouts and gave up four hits, one earned run, and two free bases on five innings of work. Chandler recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 9-4 on the season.

Emiliano Teodo took the loss for the Crawdads and fell to 4-3 on the season.

The Grasshoppers are back in action against the Hickory Crawdads for their final home game of the season tomorrow, Sunday, September 3. Come out to First National Bank Field for Family Funday Sunday and fireworks at the Hoppers game.
