*********For all the teams and players with OPEN weeks, be sure you watch out tonight with the spare time you have on your hands…I remember way back in the day, on the BYE/OPEN week, players from my old high school had a big party on the BYE Friday, and some of them said goodbye to the team on the following Monday, after practice…

The coaches find out about this stuff, and the price is too much to pay…Players will get in trouble for the partying, they will quit the team, and the others who stay on, will be forced to run or do drills after practice for the rest of the year/season, and you don’t want to be doing that…I stayed away from that party on that Friday night, and I am glad I did…Better off to throwing a football in somebody’s backyard on the OFF date…

You know if you are there going to the parties and there’s alcohol or drugs involved, the coaches are going to find out…This day and time, somebody has a camera, because they all have their phones, and it will get back to the coaches…One guy on the team who attended the party, just quit the team the following Monday…When asked the reason why he quit, he gave what might be my favorite sports answer of all time….He said, “It wasn’t as much fun as it was last year, and that is why I quit”…The crazy thing was, the guy wasn’t even on the team the previous year…No wonder it wasn’t as much fun…He was probably home watching Gilligan’s Island the year before…

Everything comes with a price…And the price you pay for your football work, ends with the reward of Winning….And Winning is a Great Thing…Much Satisfaction when one Wins the Game…**********
