National record falls: Hough kicker Nolan Hauser is all-time leader in field goals made
The new national record for career field goals is 57 and it belongs to Hough senior and Clemson commit Nolan Hauser.
from Nick Stevens , HighSchoolOT managing editor
Hough High School kicker Nolan Hauser’s name is all over the N.C. High School Athletic Association state record book, and now it will live in the national record book.
On Thursday night, Hauser hit a 48-yard field goal in the third quarter against North Mecklenburg to break the national record for most field goals made at 57.
Hauser’s 57th career field goal breaks the previous record of 56 held by Cole Hedlund of Argyle High School in Texas, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations. Hauser tied the record in week two of the season with a game-winning field goal against Dutch Fork (SC).

No. 4 East Forsyth survives test against Reagan
The Eagles pulled out a victory despite trailing most of the game.
from Joel Bryant at HS OT…..
The East Forsyth Eagles improved to 4-0 on the season after pulling away late from Reagan. The Raiders from the other side of Forsyth County led almost the entire game.
It was a huge test for the Eagles as Reagan is a solid team and it was the first Central Piedmont 4A Conference matchup of the season.
The game started and effectively ended with plays by Eagle senior Kai Mitchell.
Mitchell returned the opening kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown. When Reagan had a chance to go on a tying drive late in the fourth quarter, Mitchell jumped a route and picked off a pass from Jacob Smith.
Junior UNC quarterback commit Bryce Baker threw for two touchdown passes, including an 80-yard beauty to Josh Alston in the second quarter.
Reagan sophomore quarterback Jacob Smith impressed with three touchdown passes. One pass was for a 17-yard score, another for 29 yards, and the third for 51 yards/
East Forsyth’s defense was able to limit Smith and Reagan with a stifling pass rush in the second half.
East Forsyth (4-0 overall, 1-0 Central Piedmont 4A) is set to travel to Davie County next week to continue conference play. Reagan (0-4, 0-1 Central Piedmont 4A) will host Glenn next Friday.
Mallard Creek Mustangs fall to (1-3) after their 17-15 loss to West Charlotte….
