Congratulations to former Smith Golden Eagle basketball player Adrian Wimbush, on being named the General Manager/GM of the IHOP on Westover Terrace, here in Greensboro

Outstanding work turned in by former Smith Golden Eagle basketball player Adrian Wimbush…He is now the General Manager of the International House of Pancakes/IHOP on Westover Terrace, here in Greensboro…He worked his way up from being a regular everyday employee, to the Assistant Manager’s position, and now Adrian Wimbush is the General Manager, and he is running the show at the IHOP, on Westover Terrace…

He is running the show at the IHOP, just like he used to run the fastbreak for the Golden Eagles basketball team coached by Brian Jones, with assistants like Matt Harder, Jerrod Harris, and Wil Perry…Adrian was an outstanding hoops performer back in his days at Ben L. Smith High School…And we just wanted to make sure we took the time today, to congratulate HIM on his career move up the ladder at the IHOP, and he might not be done moving up just yet…Maybe look for him to soon become an area manager in the IHOP organization, and this young man puts his heart and soul into everything he does…

This also gives us another chance/opportunity to dispel the rumor, that nothing good ever comes out of Smith High School, because we do know, and now we have more proof, that Ben L. Smith does produce Winners…

Adrian Wimbush is a perfect example that with Smith, you can be a top producer…Winners are coming from that school over on the Southside…You have the young man Adrian Wimbush, who is in charge of the show, there on Westover Terrace, at the IHOP…You had the Bostic Brothers, Joe and Jeff from Smith HS, and they made a career out of their work in the NFL…There has been Bobby Mac/McAdoo from Smith HS, and he is in more basketball Halls of Fame than I count..McAdoo, one of the Top 100 Players in the history of the NBA…Then there was Wayne Butler and Don Tilley…They came from Ben L. Smith and combined, there were leaders in the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department for nearly 75 years…Plus there was Eric Ebron, who made good money for himself and his family, from his playing days with several teams, in the NFL…

We could go on, but I’m sure the point we are makin’, is well takin’…Adrian Wimbush could have gone the other way…Plenty of temptations out there these days, that can cause a kid to head down the wrong road/street….But, Adrian Wimbush chose a path to career success, and he didn’t do it any easy way, he did it the tough way, and he earned his spot, by working hard and sticking to his game plan…

The young man Adrian Wimbush has done well for himself…To be in a key leadership role while still in his ’20s, is nothing to be sneezed at…He can do more, and you still may see him one day coaching a basketball team on the high school or college level…He and Jordan Hanner, a former Southwest Guilford Cowboys basketball player, are now in the process of trying to build an AAU basketball team…With Wimbush and Hanner coaching that team, the team will succeed…

Adrian Wimbush and Jordan Hanner in his own right, are both right there today, and they are Right On target on what they are doing, because both of these young men had strong mothers…Adrian’s mom, and Jordan’s mom have both always backed up and supported what these two young men have gone after…Without the support of these good mothers, neither one of these young men, would be where they are today…

The Manager of the Year…That has a nice ring to it, and that does really seem to fit for Adrian Wimbush….He is making good news in the land of the living….The Land of the Living, and living life to its fullest, as a Leader in our community….

Congrats to Adrian Wimbush, on a job well done, and we look forward to seeing just how far this young man from Ben L. Smith High School on Holden Road goes, as he works to get to the top, and doing it all from “The Southside”…..

**********We first came in contact with Adrian Wimbush, back when we were doing our Basketball in Focus Shows, and we had a chance to sit down with him, and interview him, when he was a basketball player for the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles….**********
++++++++++That interview was for sure a few years back, but Adrian still has a copy of the interview on his cell phone today….++++++++++
